Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    71km/h still holding as max gust so far here. Regular gusts to 60km/h so nothing out of the ordinary really. Unless the squall to our West delivers something higher it's looking like another non event.

    Same here in Dundalk. Squall line came through, brief blast of heavy rain. Now lovely blue skies & sunshine. Changing Irish weather eh?!:)

    Squall has hit Dublin 15, sheets of rain and gusty. Possibly a bit of short term flight disruption.

    UK Met on the BBC there made it clear that it was the Irish weather service that named the storm as they see it impacting Ireland.
    Not sure the UK were convinced.

    Winds seem to be easing back now.
    Still some gusts.

    Worst of it was from 10.30 to 11.30.

    Already been 3 diversions, if operations stopped at all currently there's so much in the holds that there'd be a pile of diversions.

    Reduced arrival rate due to Aerodrome Capacity (single runway operations).

    They seemed convinced enough to issue a yellow warning last night. This was from their website.

    Met Eireann called this one and it has left most on here scratching our heads.

    Top gust so far at Johnstown Castle is 39 knots.

    It is interesting that Finner Camp, on the opposite side of the country, is registering a higher mean and gust speed on the 1300 reports.

    Watching the BBC weekly forecast on BBC1 there about an hour ago, the presenter made a point of saying that 'Storm Ewan' was named, not by them, but by the 'Irish Met Service' due to their concerns about potential impacts.

    Sun out now here. Max gust 71km/h in Waterford City and 80 at Waterford Airport which is on the coast more or less. Credit to Su for calling this right again. The Arpege model way off the mark for this region.

    This is mad about about the Gust of 40kts at 14.00 at Johnstown Castle.
    Although I suppose that is the thing of Gusts they can be localised.

    This weather station in Wexford Harbour ties in more with the timeline in what i'm experiencing that the strongest winds were from 10.30 to roughly 11.30 or 11.45.

    They recorded the strongest gust at 12.08 with a gust of 41kts and this is at sea level. I'm at 115m asl.:rolleyes:

    That said, the wind has picked up a bit again but not like it was before.
