    Genre: Drama,

Description: Set in the 1980s, this series dramatizes the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. Excellent viewing if you're into a bit of 1980's period drama. This is from the same network that did Mad Men and they look to be trying to re-create that formula again. Each series charts a different aspect of technology innovation from pc's to the internet.

Watched a couple of Norwegian shows on Netflix recently and thought they were quite good - Nobel and Occupied. I'm a sucker for Scandi drama though so they may not be everyone's cup of tea!

Cast: No one famous (it's German)

    Genre: Supernatural drama / Noir

Description: German TV series about children that go missing. Question though, is not nessecarily where these kids have gone and how the histories of different families are intertwined with their disappearance.

Watch If You Like: Stranger things (although it's more serious), Lost

    Also: that theme tune!

Craith (Hidden in English) is an eight-part series created by Hinterland/Y Gwyll co-creator Ed Talfan and Hinterland/Y Gwyll writer Mark Andrew. Dark, broody and compelling drama.

Title: Bodies (BBC 2004-2006, 17 episodes)

Cast: Max Beesley, Patrick Baladi, Neve McIntosh, Keith Allen, Tamzin Malleson

    Genre: Dark Medical

Description: From Jed Mercurio (who writes Line Of Duty) based on his own experiences as a Doctor in the NHS. Title: The Other Two

Cast: Drew Tarver, Heléne Yorke, Ken Marino, Case Walker, Molly Shannon and Wanda Sykes

    Genre: Commedy

Description: An aspiring actor and his sister Brooke, a former professional dancer, try to find their place in the world while wrestling with their feelings about their 13-year-old brother Chase's sudden rise to internet fame.

    Links: TVMaze, IMDB, Boards

    Watch this if you like:

Excellent comedy from Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider with a great cast written and executed well. Wanda Sykes and Ken Marino are adding star power to it but their roles are really fun. The characters are well defined and have a great arch through the season with some over the top comedy balancing out some dark element. Overall this worth the watch.

There is also a short aftershow in which the creators and the cast talk about the show.

    Title: Babylon Berlin

Cast: Liv Lisa Fries (she pops up in Counterpart also).

Genre: (neo-noir) Crime drama (switches up to more of a thriller in series 2)
Description: It’s an inter-war crime drama, set in Berlin where nothing is ever quite what it seems. A detective, ostensibly trying to break a porn ring, stumbles across a conspiracy. Its grimy Berlin settings are contrasted with its Burlesque night-life, adding to the neo-noir feel; with an interesting story and excellent acting, it makes it a well-crafted series. Series 3 coming late ’19.

    Title: Happy

Cast: Christopher Meloni (Law & Order), Ritchie Coster, Lili Mirojnick, Medina Senghore, Patrick Fischler

    Genre: 'Live-action/adult animated black comedy/action-drama'

Description: 'Disgraced police detective Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni) lives as a social outcast, filling his days with heavy drinking and substance abuse, moonlighting as a hitman to feed his various habits. After sustaining a massive heart attack, Nick comes into contact with a small, blue, winged unicorn named Happy (an animated character voiced by Patton Oswalt) that apparently only he can see. Happy explains he is the imaginary friend of a little girl named Hailey, who has been kidnapped by a deranged man dressed as Santa Claus ("Very Bad Santa").'

    Links: IMDB, Wiki

Watch this if you like: Dark comedy, gory-ish scenes (more punishment than The Punisher, albeit some accidental), bat-sht crazy ideas, one of the best fight scenes where there's no movement (S02E07), a stunning performance by Meloni. 18+, regardless of the flying blue imaginary unicorn. Anyone I've recommend this to has been well impressed by it. Need to be willing to suspend disbelief, especially for season 2.

Just watched episode one of a series called Bás nó Saoirse/ Death or Liberty on TG4. It is subtitled as well, so if you don't have Irish you can enjoy it.

It history thing all about the British transport ships to Australia in the 18th century/19th Century.
Focuses' on the fate of Rebels against the Crown, who were sent there. Gives them a good back story and includes people from Wales. Ireland and America. Well done and informative.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Halfway through Industry and enjoying it so far although it bit needlessly graphic in places. The rotten tomatoes critics consensus sums it up well I think "Though Industry's social critiques tend toward the superficial, sharp writing and an excellent ensemble make it easy to enjoy its soapy workplace drama anyway."

Just finished Deutschland 83 on All 4. Excellent, would highly recommend it. Will probably start Deutschland 86 later on. Have watched the opening episodes of both The Americans and The Man in the High Castle over the last week. Not sure whether I’ll persevere with both/either. If I was to choose one it would probably be The Americans.

If anyone knows where to get Deutschland 89 I’d appreciate it. I asked on the Line of Duty thread, but the mods clamped down on discussions of other shows there, which is fair enough. 89 doesn’t seem to be on All 4. Thought I saw it on Prime, but when I looked again couldn’t find it.
