Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not anymore. There aren’t enough laps left.

I'd say Verstappen easily has 2 seconds if not 3 on Hamilton. Then with Vettel in between that's at least one more second.

That looks as close as Max has been through the tunnel

Verstappen will clip Hamiltons back tyre to get the win

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,394 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

I think it needs to happen now for Max if he wants to open up 5 seconds

Verstappen managed to make Hamilton light up his rears out of the hairpin but did nothing. Ah well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

    Stupid Verstappen

    A bit close.

Should Hamilton let max through on the last lap, and hope he can get 5 seconds to Bottas?

Has to be an investigation into that contact between Hamilton and Max.

    Dammit Max.

Lewis has basically been a whining safety car this race.

  • Registered Users Posts: 409 ✭✭strawdog

Interesting strategy call for Merc if vettel got past Hamilton, would they let bottas past ham to chase max for 5 second gap

If it was Vettel doing it, or Ricardo doing it, people would be praising him for a stunning defensive drive.

Depends if Vettel or Ricciardo spent the whole race whinging over tyres and wanted to loose the race.

Keep mentioning Niki to Hamilton, hope that'll be enough to make Hamilton not bitch over the radio.

Fair fups to Lewis. Lucky Max didn't give him a rear puncture too

If he wasn't going to come in what was the point in moaning for 30 odd laps??

Always find it it hilarious watching the awkwardly formal podium ceremony at Monaco before switching over to the ridiculous pre-race circus before the Indy 500

Herbert described it as a mature performance from Hamilton :D

First time in years I found that entertaining .

Max and lewis tire issues . I am sure Vettel was just praying for some thing. But a podium he has to be happy with it.

Good race for Sainz and the double points for Toro . Both drivers doing well.

Shout out to George Russell . Was it 15th from last in a Williams .

Kubica was in 15th until Giovinazzi spun him. Not a bad showing by Williams today (by their new standards)

How much of that 15th was related to guys ahead having pitted under the safety car and him not pitting?

Kubica would have finished ahead of Russell only for Giovinazzi.

Yeah, not disputing that, but can’t imagine he would have been ahead of anyone else after pitstops worked themselves out.

Afair it was only Perez he may have been ahead of that had pitted by then Kubica overtook both Russell and Giovinazzi during the 1st Lap.

I reckon he would have, but we'll never know, the Monaco result of Russell 15th and Kubica 18th can't be seen as GR getting the better of RK here, what it does show though is Kubica is able to handle Monaco and it doesn't get any tighter than that, what i did find somewhat interesting was how long it took him to get going after he was spun around, took longer than usual.

No but he pitted with the safety car what costed him dearly.

Speaking of Perez, this footage is mad and those marshalls were very lucky!

Anyone who can should stick on the end of the Indy 500 on Sky Sports F1 now. Great race so far. Straight run to the end once the red flag is done.

What the fûck was that? Why were they running infront of the pit exit like that? How were they not aware of Perez exiting?

really shows how bad the sport has become. monaco isnt fit to be on the calander anymore

2 years in a row that the winner was really strugling and shouldnt have been able to keep the position

    absolute farse

Maybe in 2021 with the new aero rules it might actually make Monaco interesting again?

  • Registered Users Posts: 621 ✭✭✭weekaizer

Wow Lewis, just wow. From pole position, driving the fastest car in the field around the most difficult track to overtake. How many greatest races of your life have you had now?... god I hate him. Rant over.

Don't see 2021 making any difference, the cars are gone too big for the streets of Monaco now.
