Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm pretty sure I've had this album for over a year! What was the delay in them releasing it?! Although my version doesn't have Don't Mind Me but same cover. Did they self-publish it first?

They recorded it and all that themselves yeah but never released it. They had it ready to go but then got signed. And Universal wanted them to re-record them or whatever as far as I know.

Is that not a bit pointless Sully? We all know that stickys aren't read by many people. And if that's the case wouldn't we have a sticky where all local news stories go and another where all service requests go etc. It's not like we have threads about events clogging up the entire forum every day - there's not enough going on and the forum isn't that busy.

I really think gigs/events should still have their own threads. And about three of the posts you moved in here are for festivals that last three days or more!

This was an admin choice a long time ago, as people were coming on and posting loads of different events/gigs etc. in the forum (and other regional forums) and some where not contributing elsewhere. Its a one stop shop for all the going ons in Waterford unless its a big gig/festival. A lot of people are reading the thread and using it, which is perfect. :)

Any queries send me a PM so as to keep the thread on topic.

    Hi All,

We are increasing our pubs for the Poker in the pub final in Killarney in February and just wanted to let the waterford players know where the games are happening . For all enquiries call neill 0872828744. If you are a publican and would like to have a game at your venue we can set you up with all equipment e.g Chips Poster Tables Flyers and a Tournament director to run the event each week .

To Join the league Just play in any one of these games below The league starts from November, Each Leaague is diefferent per venue . We are expecting 1000+ players at the final in Killarney in February with a prizepool of over €100,000 . Each player who qualifies for teh game starts with 15,000 chips those who buy in start with 12,000 Chips .

    FINAL KILLARNEY 2011 FEB 10TH-13TH
As Season 3 arrives for the Irish Amateur Festival Of Poker , We are now giving pubs/Clubs a unique oppurtunity to qualify for our Grand final in Killarney from February 10th-13th with an estimated prizepool of €100,000 . Season 1 and 2 We Guarnateed €65,000 and reached that target . In Season 3 we have changed things arround slightly with 500 tickets availble for Direct Buy in and 500 Tickets available to be won around the country . At the moment we have alomost 300 seats sold for direct buy ins so these tickets will be hot property .The Ticket Value is now €100 with a €25 Registration which can be paid on arrival , This gives us complete transparency for the players invoved . The biggest advantage to qualifying is that all players who qualify through a pub/club start the event with 15,000 Chips but any player that Buys in Directly recieves 12,000 Chips .Each part of the country has been divideded into sections for the purpose of qualiying players from there respective Pubs/Clubs and we have taken on plenty of venues to fill the seats available to ourselves . If it is a new Venue or an existing venue we will help set up the game and advertise each venue on both our Sms Data Base and our Website . For all Direct Buy ins please contact Neill Kelly 0872828744 .All Leagues/Qualifiers will be posted at www.bigslickevents.net and at www.pokerinthepub.ie .

We are confident that all the venues that participated last year will want to do so again this year, and we are hopeful that we can add more venues this year and increase our prizepool to €100,000. We would ask that you recommend the league to other organisers or to contact us with any organisers/venues you feel would be interested. Neill Kelly 353 (0) 87 2828744 or email nkelly@bigslickevents.net . We would like to invite you to enter your venue for the coming league, and we are very hopeful that you see the value in what we have to offer . You can find information here on how the league will run for the coming season, and I would like to say that I very much welcome any feedback you have on how we might improve it further. Please contact Neill Kelly from Big Slick Events to get your venue involved in this unique Poker League. If you are new to Poker and need a hand setting up a new venue we can provide each venue with all the essential tools to run a game, From Tables to Chips to Event Organisers . Poker in the Pub brings the game to you . Each Venue that is running must be associated with Poker in the Pub and we must get weekly updates from the pub/Club on results and Qualifiers . This then allows us to monitor the league and the placements with results . Also there is tournament director sectioned to most areas and if the pub is not listed as an Poker in the Pub Venue then those players will not be entered and only allowed the Direct Buy in option which only allows them 12k starting stack.

If you have a pub or club that wants to enter the league please contact myself and i will send out all details to yourself or the venue , As it stands we have over 700 places reserved now in Ireland for this and we are capped at 1000 players

    Sounds interesting,

quick question. How come the buy in's at the different venues are different. Like Lawlors would be allot closer for me but I'd play the €20 game before the €50 ya know?

Also, can you just turn up on the first night?

Yes u can just show up on the night .

Buy ins are different to suit different players . Some are existing game that we have and others are new games ...

The Dungarvan is the most expensive as its running 3 years ....

We are looking for another game up that area and if u would like to set one up for it let me know

Looking forward to the first GIY Waterford meeting of 2011, with organic grower, trainer and consultant Klaus Laitenberger on Wednesday January 26th at 6pm! All welcome!

Grow it Yourself Waterford meets monthly in Central Library, Lady Lane to discuss and promote organic growing, and to inspire, inform, and educate people in backgarden and allotment growing.

    For more see http://www.giyireland.com/event.php?event_id=476

Imagine you went shopping and somebody stole 1/3 of your shopping from your trolley after you paid for it! This is what we do to ourselves when we waste food. About 1/3 of all the food we buy gets thrown out! On average, wasted food costs each Irish household €700 a year. For some households this can be over €1,000 – at a time when most people are looking for ways to spend money more wisely and get better value for money, can you justify wasting money by throwing out food?

In order to help you to prevent this waste, Waterford City Council and the ENFOpoint service in Central Library are hosting a free workshop at 10.30am in Central Library, Lady Lane on Wednesday 26th January to help you to Stop Food Waste. All are welcome to attend. This workshop is being held by Waterford City Council in conjunction with the Stop Food Waste Team. The Stop Food Waste programme is developed by the EPA as part of the National Waste Prevention Programme.

** we are expecting a big demand for tickets so we advise you get them early as there is only one show and tickets are limited!! **

What exactly is Beardyman? One minute he's winning the UK Beatbox competition, twice, next he's winning best MC at Breakspoll, and then he's playing a sold-out run of solo comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. That's not fair... Most people only get to do... well... none of those... but this is Beardyman we're talking about. A leading light on the Beatbox scene since he landed on it with a bang in the mid noughties, Beardyman, (real name Darren Foreman) has always pushed beatbox way beyond what most beatboxers consider its limits. A uniquely gifted performer, his refusal to be put in a box has seen him beatbox all over the world including support slots touring with Groove Armada and hosting huge festival main stages.

However, all this was not enough for Foreman. Frustrated with the restrictions of the human mouth, but still obsessed with it's unparalleled capabilities, he quickly became a leading figure in the emerging trend of live-looping, being the first to appropriate the Korg Kaoss Pad as a live-looping tool and pushing his beatbox-based art form into the entrancing and uncharted realms of live-production. "Beatbox for me is just the quickest way of getting the ideas in my head out into the world where people can hear them" he says. Now, when playing to screaming fans all over the world, he uses an ever-growing arsenal of sound manipulation technology to take the ever-growing crowds with him on full-length musical journeys, darting from exhilaratingly ad-hoc rave-up to comedic musings and interpretations and mash-ups of classic tunes from a huge range of genres. His YouTube videos, which range from the comedic and ridiculous to the downright breathtaking, have been viewed tens of millions of times and it's hard to find a bad comment on any of them.
