Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Good shout.
DeChambeau only player under Par which is astonishing and shows how tough the course was.

I had Reid backed ew but came out with a profit because i backed the winning score to be -3 or better. When i saw how incredibly well DeChambeau was playing i felt he would finish -3 or better.

His performance was a pleasure to watch and he looked bombproof tonight.

John Catlin is in good form and is very accurate off the tee and thats whats required in the Irish Open, the american has no experience of the course but at 40/1 he gets the burden of my tenner ew.

Last week was a disaster so my attempts to redeem myself with one runner this week

    Lagergren e/w outright and FRL

A bit more invested this week having had a bit of luck last week.

A tenner ew Catlin 45/1 again this week accuracy and good putting give him a chance and confidence is high.a fiver ew Catlin 35/1 without Fleetwood,Fitzpatrick,Wiesberger,Kaymar and Pieters.5 places PP. Afiver ew B Hebert 45/1. Scottish open.

In the Sanderson Farms Zac Johnson a tenner ew 35/1 could have the game for the course and C Ortiz at 50/1 has a bit of course form and gets my fiver ew.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,304 ✭✭✭munster87

Great call on Catlin, see no reason he can’t do it again this weekend. My money in Scotland is on Joost Luiten, played well last week finishing t11 and a former winner, Brandon Stone. Played well last time in portugal too. 66/1 and 60/1 respectively. I’ll have a third bet as well but I’m undecided between a couple of Frenchmen as of yet.
In the Sanderson Farms I’ve had small bets on Denny McCarthy and Kristoffer Ventura at 70/1 and 80/1.

  • Registered Users Posts: 184 ✭✭Sir montygom

rob macintyre on home soil for me @40/1 e/w

soren kjelson gets a little 5e @450/1 on befair .....if he gets to the weekend the wet windy conditions hopefully will not upset him.

wang jeunhun @100/1 e/w as small bit of form in recent outings

3 out of 4 in the top 10 currently. Long way to go, bit of interest for the weekend at least.

Both t19 in Scotland and both t6 in Mississippi. However, a lot of tied places there. Picked the wrong Frenchman too.

I mostly bet with PP,my online account is with PP,however the two i fancy are 40s with Boyles only 35 with PP 8 places and one does not have to be on the grid.

    Like the look of 5pl 1/4, but W/O 'the big7' : AA & SS, 76-81, Sky people.

There's a 600/1 shortening too, for main 8pl OR, not sure why, ideally it's some 'wisdom of crowds' effect in action.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,304 ✭✭✭munster87

Van Rooyen has played well at Wentworth in the past and looked in decent form last week. The 25/1 6 places and 22/1 8 places available look a tad skinny but I think he’ll go well.

You can only get maximum of one free bet for 2nd, 3rd or 4th online.
In a shop, if done right ;), you may get both.
Should be same prices as online offerings.

I may not have made myself clear,I know the prices are the same online or in shops,my problem is that they are lower than most other bookmakers.

PP offer the worst odds, especially on football, hence I tend to look elsewhere

    All golf bets on.
Hojgaard and Arron Rai both 40 to1 Boyles 8 places tenner ew the 2,going with youth and a saver on Lowry who loves Wentworth.

A tenner ew Inbee Park 16 to 1 womens major in the Us and a tenner ew Rickie Fowler 25 to 1 without the top 5 in the betting 5 places Shriners open.

The winner of the latest ladies major, (the ANA inspiration) Mirim Lee is 200/1 this week in a tournament that she finished 4th in, in 2016. Her past couple of starts haven’t been fantastic but surely 200/1 is a decent price?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,304 ✭✭✭munster87

Have cross doubles in the men’s this week, Van Rooyen and Lowry into Wolff and Bryson.

That is a very good price, one would not expect such a price on Mirim Lee and regardless of the result that price is too big.

Gotcha and as Happy4all also mentioned, both spot on about pricing.

If you look at the 1st set of golf prices out normally Monday evening and compare them to Wednesday, some of them have moved as the market adjusts.
The vast majority of the price moves are lower, very few of them end up higher so increased margin for the bookie later on in the week.
You have to take into account any money back and extra places as well before making a decision as some people like the insurance of both.

This week Hatton and Fitzpatrick are my 2 main guys.

Main tournament this weekend is the CJ Cup.

    B&M offers:
PP: E/W 7 places, Money Back if 2nd, 3rd or 4th for all customers.
Boyles: E/W 7 places, Money Back if 2nd, 3rd or 4th to Boyle Extra customers only.
Ladbrokes: E/W 7 places and Money Back if player misses the cut all customers but their prices are very short compared to PP & Boyles.

Matt Wolff in the CJ Cup; 20/1 e/way 7 plcs

    Food luck me;)

used my free bets with sky and PP to back small on 3 golfers in the CJ cup

rahm 14/1 enhanced win only and boosted PP
xander 16/1 enhanced win only PP
    morikawa 28/1 sky bet

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,586 ✭✭✭4068ac1elhodqr

176 still available for recent winner JK, for the Masters 6pl, interesting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,625 ✭✭✭✭okidoki987

Xander shooting a 74 and Hatton shotting 73 in their 3rd rounds certainly helped him.
He played well, won well but hard to see him winning or even getting placed in a Masters.

Overnight money will bring down in price but I'd never back a golfer e/w this early as a lot of bookies will go extra places however as B&M bookmakers will probably be closed so there won't be much as value as normal.
Online should see Sky Bet, PP, Betfair Sportsbook and Boyles go at least 8 places in it, with a couple going 10.
Hills went 9 last Major, PP 10 and Skybet (I think) were 12 so will be interesting to see what they go in last major of the year.
