Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Was that not 210?

Cos, well, 210 isn't impressive at all, like...

    3 reds, 1 blue, white, small red + collar= 230

The white is barely visible from this angle but I can just make out the outline.

To date he has been tested 19 times by USADA.

    Search for Clarence Cummings here:

    1. He's only 16 and has been lifting weights most top seniors in the US would for well over 2years. In fact he broke the senior 62kg C+J record as a 14yr old.

    2. He only trains 5x a week according to his coach. PED's best effects come from being able to train more and recover better; if he was taking stuff, he wouldn't be getting any real benefit in comparison to the risk from taking them.

    3. He's been tested like everyone else by USADA and has yet to test positive.

I'm always skeptical about people lifting insane weights, but because he competes regularly and is subject to random tests by USADA, plus the other stuff I mentioned, I see absolutely no reason to question if he's clean.

I firmly believe this is what happens when you take the top 0.00001% of genetics and combine good coaching and hardwork+time. This kid is legit imo.

Go up there with an empty bar and have people throw the plates on?

Literally every weight loss type thread on this and the Nutriyion & Diet forum:

Poster: "Trying to lose X stone by X timeframe, how do I do it?"
Forum: "what's a days eating generally look like? Do you weigh your food and count your calories?"
Poster: "yeah I eat healthy enough and I do a bit of walking/exercise a few times a week as well..."
Forum: "That's great but do you track everything you eat? Weight loss will be defined by your diet and not so much the exercise you do."

I usually just skip over the posts but if people were told to look at the stickies it might stop the barrage.

Having said that, it might be good to update the stickies, especially when it comes to people on the forum just wanting to look better and lead a healthier lifestyle.

I'd definitely recommend putting in ex-poster-whose-name-shall-not-be named's 60sec video on basic nutritional info as a start. His program being stickied would be a great idea aswell.

Looks like we'll never see Clarence compete in weightlifting again, it'll be awesome to see how he does in powerlifting.

He doesn't give any reasons but if you read between the lines it's easy to see what his motives for doing so are.

Yep. He can't get a proper rack position because too many arm gains.

Well I was going to say he just can't get a chest pump from snatches or cleans like he does from benchin' but whatever.

How do his powerlifting numbers compare to top guys in this country at similar weight?

Well in the 105's he beats all the IPF records obviously, but I highly doubt he'll do a meet with them. IPO's website seems to be down at the moment.

I think in general he could do really well in powerlifting given his genetics and work ethic, and the fact he's already strong as ****. I just don't know why he insists on avoiding belts and sleeves considering he's just giving up kilos which others can take full advantage of.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,654 ✭✭✭✭Alf Veedersane

His numbers suggest he'd win at 105 across the feds. They're not done under the same conditions as a comp but I'd guess he'd do 800+ in a comp.

Unless he had to take off his watch. Then all bets are off.

Anyone know a decent gym in Dundalk that has a day pass or pay as you go option, please and thank ya?

Actually, anywhere between Dundalk and Swords is fine.

Not sure what'd constitute as Decent, but the Aura centres (Drogheda and Dundalk) have pay as you go.

Could be wrong but think it's €5 or €7 depending what time you go (think €5 is for off peak which is, again could be wrong, 9am-4pm).

Rehband. You can get them in D8 Fitness on Cork St in Dublin or buy them online through the D8 fitness site or strengthshop.ie

One of them sells the sleeves singly - they'll cost about 55-60 for the pair.

That said, I got those cos I thought I needed IPF approved at the time. There may be other less expensive options that are good enough.

Saw a charming fellow today who left a wet patch behind his head on a bench so bad I could actually see drops running down it like condensation on a can. Walked away without so much as a glance back :/

How, if you sweat that much, can you not religiously bring a towel with you and clean everything? Like, everything must be wet to the touch.
