Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You could have called him Angela.

Here in Luzon, that's considered a girl's name, as I'm sure it is in Ireland too.

It was a boy. Had it of been a girl I might have, but there are virtually no as women do not have the same intellectual capabilities as men (fact of science) so I would have been free to choose whichever girl's name I liked.

I used to know a girl who called her kid Angel. Clive is also a terrible name, in my opinion. Or Charles..

Chelsea, Jordan (for a boy or girl), Clarice, Charity, Chantelle, Charmaine- all names of students I've had & felt sorry for with those names.

Also, if you name your daughter Sorcha, then it's pronounced "Sur-uh-ka", not Soorsha or Sohrsha or whatever made up sheeeite you're coming up with.

And don't get me started on the name Síofra. It has a horrible meaning (a changeling, or a wicked child) so I don't know why you'd want to call your daughter that.

    I agree.

I think parents who do this are not really giving their children names.

They're just making a 'statement' to the world.

    'I'm more Irish than thou'

    Dickheads.

What's the point? Idiots of that caliber would pronounce it that way anyway. :pac:

I'm not a fan of the name Sorcha, Sorcha is the Irish for Sarah.

Bronagh has to be one of my least favourite Irish girl's names, it means "Sorrowful One". Where would you be going calling your child something as sad as that

    Jamie Oliver's kid Buddy Bear.

Lead singer of Korn called his kids "Pirate" and "Zeppelin" respectively.

Frank Zappa wins with "Moon Unit" and "Diva Thin Muffin.", though.

    Boy's named Ashley.

The worst have to be people who have no idea of the Irish language calling their little parasites "fuinneog" and such.

I've got two mates (brothers) called Risteard and Ruairí. Quite odd considering they grew up in Darndale...

Pretty much everyone I grew up with had Irish names. It's so strange to see how people consider it pretentious nowadays because all the yummy rugger mummy types hijacked their own culture.
