Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Just paid my last monthly subscription to them €14.99, should probably have stopped subscription a few months ago, there has been virtually no live sport shown.

    That said I will miss the only dedicated Irish sports channel.

    Will miss FA cup Saturday 3pm games, Schools Rugby & Saturday night GAA.

    Not sure off your definition but Virgin Media Sport is a Irish sports channel.

    As is Premier Sports, for that matter. Wonder what is happening with the Allianz Leagues though, that should have had one season left on it.

    Eir Sport currently showing Man Utd & Everton from 1985. While the same teams are on Bt Sport live.

    The Champions League is a big draw but thats not exclusive to them.

    UEFA nations league is held only a few times a year.

    Not to mention the champions league game they have is on free to air, as is most of their priority nations league games (England games and the finals for example)

    How much of those rights is exclusive to Virgin Media Sport - ie, is not simulcast on VM One, Two, or Three, or also shown by another broadcaster?

    Champions League - simulcast on Virgin One/Two, also shown on BT and Livesport

    Europa League? Top games simulcast on Virgin Two, also shown on BT

    Nations League - top games simulcast on Virgin Two, also shown on Sky.

    Horse racing - all simulcast on Virgin One/Two and ITV.

    That leaves Bellator and extreme off road racing, both of which I’m sure pull in massive viewer numbers…

    Actually according to the Sky Community forum these changes will take place on Monday 25th October. The last days of eir Sport only look like being available to eir tv customers.

    Monday 25th 

    • Sky Sci-Fi & Horror (311) renames to Sky Halloween/Halloween HD. A channel dedicated to the most frightening films around for Halloween.

    Monday 25th

    • Showcase TV (191) renames to Ayozat TV. New TV programmes, concepts and formats covering just about everything: entertainment, games, music, sport, and niche interests
    • eirSport 1 HD and eirSport 1 COMM HD (421) close permanently (ROI)
    • Premier Sports 2 (429) moves to 421
    • BoxNation (427) moves to 429
    • La Liga TV (435) moves to 427

    While I normally take that source as being as good as gospel those EPG changes haven’t happened yet, and I presume won’t be happening till Thursday/Friday.

    I read somewhere that removal from eir TV was actually due to occur earlier in October, but can’t find the source.

    Following an in-depth review, eir has made the decision to discontinue eir sport. eir sport will cease to broadcast on the eir vision TV service on the 11th October 2021 and on the 28th October 2021 for eir TV customers and those eir broadband and mobile customers that access eir sport on the eir TV app.

    And so the curtain has come down on five odd years of eir Sport (and twelve years of Setanta Ireland before that).

    Their close friends at Premier Sports keep flying the flag of course, but end of an era still.

    As a post script it seems RTE will be covering what would have been the final season of the current deal for Saturday GAA matches.
