Not a surprise but every result seems to show four masters falling further and further.

    Until this evening..

Mad result. Glenswilly not going well at all. Milford already through but if Four Masters beat or draw with Glenfin...

Glenswilly should be out, they were let off the hook in Glenfin last week..

Now looks like a winner takes all in Glenfin next weekend.

Wins for Glenswilly and Glenfin would see scoring difference come into play

    Currently

    Glenswilly - 11
    Glenfin - 3

Hard to see Glenswilly going through unless Milford play their reserves.

Word coming out of Glenswilly this morning is that if they beat Milford and Glenfin beat 4 Masters, both will be on 3 points, down to head to head then BUT after that, they reckon its not point difference but on head to head with group winners which would of course put Glenswilly through.
Have never heard of this solution before..

    You could be right.

I assumed it was 'usual' rules, ie head to head and then scoring difference. But there was some odd outcome in Donegal before.

    That’s ridiculous.

I’ve heard of something similar being used in Euro or World Cup qualifying groups where they disregard the whipping boys at then bottom. I’m sure the rules are written down somewhere and it’ll be in the papers this week. Glenswilly probably know what they are talking about.

What's the point in having 4 teams in a group if you're ultimately being judged against your performance against the top team in the event of level points.

Wouldn't be a fan of that at all.

Well, that scenario has not been relayed to the banks of the river Finn as of yet and hopefully never will:)

What's even more nuts is that a team in the Junior Championship could go through with zero points and not even as a result of a technicality or expulsion etc.

Once you introduce a league format anything is possible.

It means more games but it ain't Championship as we know it anymore.

I would have thought him a bit light for their game.

You'd think so. Be a blow to lose him.

Hopefully for our sake they will leave him to develop for a few years keeping an eye on how he is doing.

4 'home' games - Dublin and Throne in Ballybofey; Kerry in Ballyshannon; Banty in Letterkenny.

You'd take that if it's offered.

Should be plenty of interest in the games in Ballyshannon and Ballybofey. Less so in LK.

For the sake of points on the board I would have preferred Galway. Mayo and Meath at home plus one other. As regards points on the board unless thing change greatly this year Letterkenny will not add much.

    Get out.

Galway should always be an away game. Points are secondary to pints.

Sorry, lost the run of myself there for a while.:o
As someone who worked and lived in Galway city for years I don`t know what came over me to suggest that.

No better place to visit of a Saturday night. Taffee`s and Coili`s will be hopping. Great porter in both and a few yards from both, Murphy`s which imo serves the best pint in the country.

Murphy’s? I’l’ll have to check that out.

Great old style pub on High St. Lot of locals drink there. Mostly an older crowd than you will find in Galway pubs in that area over a weekend.
Just don`t be tempted to sing or you will be told to leave. Strict rule. No singing.
