Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

To be fair, that's not exactly weak. Ryan is a step down from SOB and Jennings obviously, but I'd consider the other two first choice. Bench will lack a bit for nous but Conan coming on would have its advantages too.

No, not weak but a big blow.

In Leinster vs Munster games, the breakdown has always been massively influential, particularly in the home games. Leinster have always managed to find another gear for about 30 minutes in terms of dominating the breakdown and generating quick ball. Jennings and SOB have been the central figures to that (whichever has featured).

Ryan isn't in that class at 7. Ruddock is going to have to carry a lot of responsibility for this one. This will be a huge examination of Ryan's credentials as an openside.

A few of us have to pick up our STH supporters' packs at the Cardiff game - anyone know if you can pick up your pack after the game, or must it be picked up before the game?

Everyone is a step down from SOB when he's in form but I'm not sure about Jennings. Ryan has had a good start to the season and has been really putting himself about.

That's a bummer about O'Brien. Ryan is going well, and has a great opportunity here. I'd love him to go well.....preferably like Toner did last season!

Jennings lives for the Munster v Leinster fixtures. He's an absolutely massive loss in terms of that game. Ryan just won't bring the same nuances or doggedness to the game that Jennings does.

It said in the email requesting help that they need volunteers pre match only so I don't know if that means packs will only be available pre match.

Also, Ryan has started all three matches so far, he'll need a rest at some stage but without Jennings and O'Brien who do you put at 7?

Yeah if they're injured he'll start. Oddly enough we're really light on backrows... Never thought I'd say that.

I think Locky will play a big part in the game if Jennings isn't fit. Be it from the bench or otherwise.

    Lote Tuqiri needs gametime.

This. Ryan has had a decent start to the season. Hasn't been short on workrate. But his work on the deck is light years behind either Jenno or SOB and he doesn't have their experience. While he'll work his socks off he just won't be as effective.

Leo and Caputo are being interviewed in the Laighainn Out bar after the game so I'd say the OLSCs time will be taken up by that post-match. So it's safe to assume the packs can only be collected before kick-off.

Apparently it's O'Brien's shoulder that is the problem...

How confirmed is that? (that it's actually his shoulder)

Not confirmed at all, just in the Irish Times:

Possibly not, for the first day of collections they had loads of volunteers on the task that werent familiar faces from the Laighin Out team so they'll probably carry on with post-match pack collections.

    LR just tweeted

"ST holders that didn't collect before the Scarlets match can get their packs in the Ticket Office before the Cardiff game."

    Didnt say anything about after

I thought I read last week in the IT that it was a knock to the ankle he got in training that is keeping him out?

Actually it was the Leinster site,
There was also an update on Sean O'Brien, who captained Leinster against Glasgow but didn't feature against Scarlets.

"Sean O'Brien took a bang on his ankle late last week so with a number of other players returning we felt it wasn't worth risking for the Scarlets game. We have been managing it ever since and will make a further call ahead of the team announcement on Thursday at midday."

Kind of read like it's a mistake tbh, would be strange not to elaborate on a shoulder injury considering he just came back from a serious shoulder problem. The way it's phrased makes me think it was ment to read ankle.

I will never get used to Shane Byrne's haircut

Imagine the power of the mullet combined with the power of the beard!? That must be what God looks like...

Think the mullet is just to draw attention away from the shoes, also does he have a phone in each pocket or are they some strange pair of cargo pants?

As the Donnybrook thing unfolded the more I realised we spent too much money on Donnybrook because we were going to the RDS at the time,” Dawson said. “Donnybrook [the redevelopment] was a concept that started in the late 90′s and the stand there had to be knocked down anyway because it was too old. The idea was to keep Leinster there but in hindsight, that was never going to be a reality because there are two clubs there and the pitch couldn’t take the traffic that was on it. The RDS was one of the best moves we ever made.”
Dawson hopes to increase the capacity of the RDS to 25,ooo eventually and thinks the province will likely sign a 20-year agreement with a ten year break clause to remain in the Ballsbridge ground when that is done.

Good news about the desire for staying in the RDS long term. It's a great location IMO.

Didn't like the idea of the move initially and didn't like it there at first either.

Can't imagine playing anywhere else now!

Ugh. Whilst he hasn't been at the races we really are getting light upfront now.

Bent will be back up to McGrath. Who is behind Bent?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

    McCarthy?

    Without Healy

    McGrath/Bent/McCarthy/Dooley
    Ross/Moore/Furlong/Byrne

It depends how many we lose to Ireland

You imagine at least two but we may lose Moore also and then its tight during AI's.

Schmidts masterplan to get all the injuries out of the way early.

    Ya have to laugh.

Jack McGrath is going to have to play 80 minutes most weeks now.

I'd imagine he'll play an awful lot more, yes. But we'll look at Bent a good bit too, he can do the basics right and he is a decent scrumagger.

Bent is a capable back up tbh.
