Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone get Firewall Zero Hour? Early impressions are very promising.

Pondering picking it up, I was waiting until it played, although I watched a couple streams seems to be a few people who are just leaving their Game running to earn XP.
That will suck if you end up in a lobby full of that!

Does look like a lot of fun, but they will need new maps fairly quickly.

It looks amazing. I'm gonna try convince a few friends to pick it up.

In fairness Frank has sold it for me also!
I had the live stream of him jumping in as it launched on in work and it looks a lot of fun.
Fairly certain I will be the guy telling my team mates where everyone is!

Lads, anyone know how I can buy from US store. I’ve alread set the account up, but I’m running into issues with getting. It to accept a payment method. Errors out when I try add paypal or card.

You need to buy uS PSN credit from somewhere like Play Asia.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,446 ✭✭✭kerplun k

Cheers man, sorry to be a pain, but do you know if you get the code instantly to redeem, or do you have to wait for the voucher to be delivered?

As far as I remember you get it instantly. I think there was a security check the first time you bought it but ever time I've bought since its been received within minutes.

    I haven't use Play-Asia, but https://www.pcgamesupply.com/buygames/sony-playstation-network-cards/

is good value, and codes are always within a few minutes for me.

    Cheers.
Good to have some options. I picked up $50 from Play Asia for around €44. I paid using BTC, so I had to wait a bit before the payment was verified, but as soon as it was, the voucher was sent almost instantly.

I purchased The Inpatient for 20 bucks. Hopefully I have some time to give it a run through over the weekend.

A few days into Firewall Zero Hour - superb.  A few bugs (losing hosts in game lobby and XP credit not always updating) butt overall is a brilliant immersive experience.  Struggling with sleep at the moment though, it's just way too addictive!

Same here. The "one more go" nature of playing it is really ruining my sleep patterns!

Has anyone tried the Honor & Duty: D-Day beta? I gave it a go with the Aim, surprisingly good fun. There's an issue with lag sometimes (not sure if it's the game or the players) and the audio needs work, but flying off hills in a jeep in VR had me cackling like a crazy old bat.

Had a go alright and it is a lot of fun. Rough around the edges for sure but the mg42 is my fave gun and the jump-in jump-out nature of the games is a breadth of fresh air after waiting ages in a firewall lobby.
Think there's another patch just released so might have another go tonight

Does this come free as DLC if you own the original Honor & Duty?

Thought it was a but crap tbh! Not that I was expecting much from an open beta. The frame rate is terrible considering it's a low poly game. And the gameplay isn't great. Nice selection of weapons though.

Argos have a class offer on at the mo - PSVR starter kit + Move controllers + choice of Firewall: Zero Hour, Wipeout Omega or The Persistence for €280.

Wipeout Omega Collection is €15 on EU store

Here's a nice bargain for all the gamecats.

The PowerA Playstation VR Case is down to €11 in Argos:

    http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/6008697/Trail/searchtext%3EPLAYSTATION+VR.htm

For the V2 you need to disconnect the earphones before putting it in the case.

Not much of an issue though.

Not at the moment. €310 for just the headset, Playstation Worlds (collection of minigames) and Moves at Argos: http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/7606160/Trail/searchtext%3EPLAYSTATION+VR.htm

But you'll get far better deals around BF/Cyber Monday.

Take this with a bag of salt, but I heard from someone who heard from someone (biiig bag of salt) who works for a major games publisher that Sony are going to release a new PS VR model next year with significantly improved specs. If it's true then I'd guess resolution & FOV increases at least, and maybe even a better tracking system & Move controllers with analog sticks. Apparently it's going to work with the PS4 and PS5.

Well if its an improvement on the current system, I can't wait to see it in action.

Despite what others might say, I can confirm that this is version 1. Wife ordered it for me and there’s been a barney here with me saying just refuse delivery and her saying “sure what’s the difference”

Product description actually states EAN: 711719981268 which is the EAN code for the V2 version

.......so then I rang them to get a definitive answer. They only have 1st gens, so steer clear.

In fairness, when you think about it, it’s highly unlikely that littlewoods would be better than all other local retailers with something like this.

Curry’s UK for £209 with astrobot and Moves was the best I could find earlier but I’ll hang on a few more days.

I will have, but HDR pass-thru aside, the neater setup with the headset is also an improvement. I know the screens are identical, but why would you choose a V1 when everyone else is selling V2’s. Even from a resale POV, it makes sense to get the newer model, and if you can do it for the same money (or thereabouts) it makes sense.

The only difference in the wiring is the small box that splits the wires that normally hangs around you is that right?

I actually find that split box very convenient as I use it to hook the cable to my body via a belt so I never feel the cable dragging on my head when I look around plus the cable is never dangling at my feet.

Just string a belt through the "Y" and tie it around your waist. Very handy for games that require a lot of movement.

You can get the Move controllers on the Italian Amazon for €50. That's the cheapest I've seen them anywhere.
