Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ok, I don't care what age you lovely lads/lasses are - I have to try and get you to hear what I'm hearing in James Blake. I KNOW, I KNOW .....he looks too young and insecure to be this good. But rhythm......has never been this subtle. Or not in my memory anyhow.

You'll be hearing "retrograde" everywhere at the mo,
but this is off the first album - who's listened to it at full speaker capability? You WILL understand. YOU MUST. You have been informed. That is all.

The account has closed for this youtube post, but thank you petal. It is rather spacey behind these curtains (they need linings).......and indeed the dragons are fiercely protective of each of our twitching secrets and grisly notions of "honesty", "morality" and "law". For example, I may be old enough to be your mother, never mind your son, my child. I fear I haven't had the courage of my convictions up here in the neverwhere of A&A - and YET ye may cry "burn her, burn the witch". Hang me high indeed.

Where does "taste" become poor? I am not ashamed to like(*) this dancer's style - even his knobbly knees have a certain "f*ck you" narcissism when combined with the appalling shorts. However, if you have a love of dance and a childhood in the 70's/80's, this man's clothing alone MAY ACTUALLY epitomise a certain "back it up there, Cynthia, begod we're in Europe now" attitude that was prevalent before the Celtic tiger. A time between the fleadh and the feile. A time of "I'm quite a pretty boy, I take good chances and I'll be your's tonight" which works out rather less well as it turns out, than a fiscally sensible marriage of long term good intentions and salary between two or more reasonable parties. Sigh. Who knew? Not me; no how.

Watch through for the Sonic references.

You may expect more dance posts in future. Me is feeling fine now.

Two years, & the motivation for about half of my posts in this thread, ended on Monday - where oh where does one decipher the inspiration to go on from

Ah, but if you are one of those who doesn't draw inspiration from the sadder things in life perhaps I can offer you something whose compact support has a little more oomph:

You may of course be directed along a slightly different inward path than that trodded by music and so would prefer to know thyself in a different manner (though if Funkadelic hasn't done it golly gee Freud & Bernays sure will have a hard time of it):

Apparently glass bottles explode in a firey hell fire when filled with butane and a spark applied, sometimes setting off the building fire alarm? How is someone supposed to know this and why isn't it thought in basic sex education to five year olds in our schools?

I suppose this means I can no longer fill things with butane and ignite them in my small bottom floor apartment while trying to get drunk?

What is this... Communist Kazakhstan? (is Kazakhstan communist?)?

On the plus side, very few deaths.
    Huzzah?

Edit:(that there be a mobile youtube site attempt at a link... Now if only there was a mod that saw that and did some Internet magic to make it show up...)

Edit : Your wish shall be done. But you know there's a price right? I need your left arm attached to a unicorn horn in the mail by tomorrow.

You see strobey. Your lightning deletes always catch me off guard. Once before I posted S-club 7 and was utterly embarrassed because the context and meaning was lost. This time around I spent the last half hour thinking up what tune to post here, only to think of it, go to youtube find the link and see that, yet again, you've deleted your post.

So, anyway, I'm putting the tune here because the title is appropriate and the tune itself should cheer your up a bit. It does to me anyway. But then if you just severed your arm, then I'm not sure what can cheer your up. I know HeWhoMustNotBeNamed gave a Worm guy a silver arm, but I'm afraid I don't have such skills. I do however possess the ability to regrow unicorn horns so if you won't mind sending that unicorn you dehorned my way I'll be happy to recompliment it with an extra horn.
    Thanks very much in advance,

Anyways dude you're awesome and cool and don't let anyone else tell your otherwise.

Also, to the grammer nazi's out there I apologise for the inventions of perfectly cromulent words.

Jesus H Christ man, that is the best fcuking song in the world, there's a few variations of it though & the differences are subtle but it's totally worth listening to 6 different versions to find the one that speaks to you. Ahh christmas... (??^&^%^£%£$^"£)

I don't think it's my favourite version either. But it's the name used for this particular one and Strobey's post that made it such a fecking awesome choice. All that time spent reflecting. . .

Goo! Goo! Goo everywhere! And it's adorable. Grey balls, white balls, skeleton balls, green balls, pink balls, cyber balls, ballooon balls, sticky bomb balls, cacti balls. Oh how adorable. I hate it when they die, I hate it when I have to leave them behind. I hate it how sometimes I sacrifice a precious ball for the greater good. (Or evil! I honestly can't tell, but the game sets a goal and I must complete it.)

Spent the last hour or so trying to build a bridge across a chasm to light a fuse and then I smacked myself on the head when I realised I was going to need two separate fused. Built the second bridge in about two minutes and lit the fuse.
    Boom!
Gooballs all over the place! But oh what a pretty sight. But boy! What a fecking soundtrack.

Sponsored, dude you need to give this a try. Strobey you too. Heck all of yez do!
And what a name for tune eh? But seriously try the game on your PC, Wii, Android or i-Thingy.

No way we're letting this thread even get a hiatus. Ever had a notion of what it is like to breathe free? Ahh that air is so pure (I don't honestly know what this means.:o) and fresh. Still not perfect, bit stingy but it it feels great! !!

Don't be lonely :D I can't write, but I'll dance and sing a little tune for you.....

You will have to imagine the singing and dancing, but nonetheless, that's what I'm doing.

"The name "Alt-J" is an allusion to the Greek uppercase letter delta (∆) which can be typed on Apple Mac OS X by the key sequence alt (option) + J. Coincidently the Alt + J function on a PC opens the Windows Media Player."

I think this is the nerdiest band name ever. I approve thoroughly.

I see Jakkass AKA Philologos AKA Christian Batman AKA Mohhamed El Nihad Nufemaria III closed his account???
Bad dice, Jakkass was cool enough.

What other song could it possibly be... this goes out to you man, where ever you be... hope things work out for you, however they go.

Edit: now with added subtitulos... app...apparently.

On my part it's been lonely because I've been dealing with lovelessness, homelessness & exams (in that order, if the erudite Victorian must know), but a song like this:

makes it all worthwhile [no matter how stingingly it resonates with the first of the reasons, no mater how fcuking bad it stings Moriarty...]...

StrobyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyS and Strabyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy where are you guys gone? You honestly think this thread can be let die!!!?

Strabogolis where you may be, I hope with all the sincerity of other people's heart that you a keeping well. Strobey you should be in a cesspit. Keeping well of course, but in a cesspit nonetheless.

So, where does one begin? This is March the first month of Spring. Course, when we buggers went to school we thought it was the second month of spring. Such a useless thing to teach people too as it had no reflection on Ireland's climate. Bleh, l hope they've correct that error. Speaking of Climate. CLimate science is fricking class! The stuff people have figured out about our climates, deep in the earth's history and the other planets and the other stuff that came about. Cool. Amazing science. Science is cool. Tedious to do no doubt but cool when viewed from that outside perspective that collates all the data and produces the complete approximation. A sequence of approximations to the truth. It's a great big universe and it began right here! And here and over there and now we have the first strong inkling of evidence towards eternal inflation models. How freaking awesome is that? Course we have to doubt all the results and models but that we can peer back to those billionth's of second when time began. That on a sheet of paper I can produce my own crude approximation of a universe, Dust world Terry pratchett would have been proud. I really ought to read one of his books sometime. ANyway, this paragraph is long, I hope it's epic enough for the bump this thread deserves,

Yiz all better be keeping well and awesome and all that stuff. Strabby kicking ass in his exams.

    Now, um, music.
May the odds forever be in our favour.

Yes, definitely. Updates as you get em please...

is it ok if I lurk here? oh, music....yes

Something for the Nordic mood so. And I've been planning sculptures - there's a feeling eating at me like I'm about to expand in a rather explosive fashion, as if from a singularity and I'm fierce afraid of what I'll unleash upon myself again......it's basis is a mash up of those immortal remains of saints (re imagined and reconstructed in German speaking Europe during the Protestant Reformation by [for example] the nuns of Ennetach, who stunningly decorated the holy ribcage of St Felix), the veneration of homogeneity, and my aunt's recent mastectomy. I haven't done a sculpture in 16 years. Wish me luck.

Alright dude, doing pretty well thanks, hope you're well yourself - 3 issues in #225 reversed their ever-prominent order of importance & in celebration of such victories, well, one could literally do nothing but throw oneself into all 10 Landau's [read the reviews to all volumes to get a sense of the poetry inherent in a slab of tar - volume 2 gives the theory behind gravitational waves ;)] along with the original frickingamazeballs Lagrange's, Fourier's, Laplace's, Maxwell's, Gibb's, Poincare's & Dirac's, dipping each into home-made strawberry daquiri's while whipping guitars with belts. Find me a better climate change book than this ideological tripe please :D

I'm happy to hear The Animators - very good. Last I heard of Dublin rap/breakbeat was Collie, and tho hilarious, did not tune to my heart at all. I'm pretty sure my next sculptures will dance to this song next though...

The Knife are for sure the beat behind my sense of dread, but Anthony....oh Anthony... is it's voice. Although he didn't write that one. Still...As a child I knew, that the stars could only get brighter...

All of Anthony and The Johnson's songs are NSFW due to emotional triggering. Use with care and consideration.
