Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    They received my application 24/08/18

They were processing the 18/08/18 as of last Thursday, only moved forward 2 days processing in a full 7 days. Ridiculously understaffed.

I'm expecting at least another 2 week wait.

Id ask to talk to a supervisor if I was you. Mine took about 10 weeks. I asked to talk to one after 8 and they said they would priorities me. At the time I thought it wouldn't make a difference but looking at your wait, it might have.

Hi, I sent my application on 15th August (new claims). They received it on 20th August. Meantime I sent another two emails to them. On 31st October they responded that they're dealing with claims that they received 17th August therefore it will be another 1-2 weeks before a decision is made for me. Today I received letter that stated that they want two more recent payslips. I hope that it won't take long.

I wouldn't either, id be expecting it by Thursday week if no hiccups.

After reading above about them requesting 2 more recent payslips from someone's claim they got to processing I took the preemptive move of emailing my last 2 weeks payslips to them asking them to add them to my paperwork to avoid adding another couple of weeks delay onto it.

If you had an overpayment (you got money that you weren’t entitled to) then it’s logical for SW to take that money back. It’s not SW’s money. It’s belonging to the country.

Has anyone done renewals lately? Ours is up for renewal in January , so I’m expecting a renewal form soon, do they take as long to process?

Any luck with your renewal? Our last payment was yesterday and still no word.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 596 ✭✭✭Tinkerbell4484

I got a form a few days after I posted this, and got a letter in December about our renewal and rate. There was no lapse in payment

Did you get the renewal form a few weeks ago? When I emailed on 13-12 I got a reply saying they were dealing with renewals for 2/1

Any recent updates? Really feeling the pinch now, savings are basically gone.... Could really do with it being processed in the next few weeks

My application was sent end of October & WFP registered it into the system 5th of November.

I received the letter Today (dated 16th of January) notifying me that my WFP was awarded.

I actually received my back pay along with my first payment all together yesterday.

My WFP is down as starting 8th of November so it looks like I missed out on 2 weeks of it.

Anyone know if this is usual or should I contact them about the two missing weeks?

It is backdated to the first Thursday after they received it which was November eighth for you so it seems correct

Anyone share any information on how they come to a figure using a P60 if employment only started in the last weeks of the year? OH only was paid for the final 3 weeks of last year and due to the nature of his job, he worked significantly more hours than he does now in the New Year (we're talking a drop of 15 or more hours each week now). Will supplying more recent payslips indicate this? His wage this week is about €250 less than the "average" weekly wage calculated from his P60 :(

They base it on the p60 from your priovous year.pay slips are to indicate your still working.
When you're been reviewed at end of the year this year's p60 will form the basis of the following years payment.
The drop in hour's won't be taking into account only the change in tax paid when been reviewed

Will they request new p60s from everyone now that it is a bit into 2019

Do you mean request P60s from people who have applications pending?

Yes, I sent mine in late Nov/early December and just wondering if a new p60 will be requested or will the paperwork sent in suffice. I have no problem sending 2018s, but it could still be a number of weeks before that is issued

When we first applied we had this same issue
We applied using a few payslips
They came to the calculation he would be earning almost 150 per week more than he was as when he started it was a rush to finish a job.
We appealed with further payslips to show this and a letter from boss and were approved the appeal

I don't know what we're going to do, he only worked 3 weeks of 2018 and out of those three weeks, one pay was with double time and a bonus for working Xmas Eve but it's not even close - most weeks he doesn't make half of the average from those three weeks of December :( Hopefully an appeal is an option!

I’ve never given them anything other then payslips. When my husband started I gave them 2 payslips, and then for renewal in November I also gave 2 payslips, as his p60 wasn’t available. They never asked for anything else, just worked the figures from payslip

I'd be worried about delaying it as it says on the checklist to include a P60 and the most recent payslip

It was approved in December with our new rate which was correct with his weekly rate. They never asked for anything else. The renewal took about 4 weeks

Email received today said they are currently working on the last week of November so probably about four more weeks for my claim

Our application is in over a week and we haven't even received confirmation that they've gotten it yet. I'm guessing from the posts about them working on Novembers backlog that they're into December's by now. Things looking rather bleak here if we're in for an 8 week wait just to be acknowledged :(

The date they say they received mine was about three weeks after if sent in and it took at least two weeks more for the letter saying that to reach me

I appreciate that but I do think the amount of time it all takes is incredibly long. They should be better staffed to handle the amount of applications they receive.

Wait times have been longer than expected for a while now so I would have thought that maybe some more tcos would be taken on to assist with the backlog

I rang Carers Allowance one day and hung on for 25 minutes. By the time someone answered I’d forgotten what I wanted. The person who answered the phone told me that there were 5 people assigned to Carers that day.
Staff have been taken away from ordinary pensions to deal with the new pension review section.
The current minister has no interest whatsoever and is hopeless. The Taoiseach is not interested in SW at all.
