Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don’t mind that actually as it is rustic and shows basic carpentry skills.

I am from NI and you will probably laugh but we do like our pallets around here.

I know ones who make furniture out of them too and they look alright. This cab isn’t anywhere near the worst compared to some of the monstrosities before. Lol.

    I will respectfully disagree :D

    reminds me of this

think the only way to enjoy these properly is to use them as a functional table too. ours is used as a coffee table and gets regular play. But ironically they need a much bigger footprint than a standard cab so they're hard to really integrate in a game room were it's easier to fit two standup cabs

    Where did you get yours.
I love them TBH. What would they set you back?

got it from a lad on UKVAC. It was one of the cabs from the Peter Davis raid : https://arcadeblogger.com/2016/08/06/pete-davies-the-invadar-arcade-collection/
I got it cheap enough but had to import it of course and then do a good bit of restoration and rust removal and whatnot. The monitor was fried on it and converted it to frogger : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSQCSGNm-wY&list=PL0bJS5Upwp5GDky5cNm4Dh5GWFX8f7OxN

I think you mean Pete Davies!

Peter Davis is an entirely different, morally bankrupt, person who should never be mentioned in this forum again, being devoid of any worthy qualities at all.

Can anyone direct me to a reliable full size arcade cabinet seller in Ireland. (Or the UK). Looking to add a complete one, but not sure where to start. Thanks

    He's ruined a good blanket box :D

I wonder is the screen exposed or is there glass over it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,188 ✭✭✭deadl0ck

    Still though - it's a bargain for €1000
    You get:
    - A blanket/gimp box
    - An old 32 inch flat screen TV
    - A Raspberry Pi

On the plus side, if you ever wanted to learn to play the piano there are definitely enough buttons there to emulate one

Christ, imagine playing Street Fighter with the buttons to the left, weird.

Good way to always win in two player games of Street Fighter 2 though.

    'You're sh1te'

    'THE CONTROLS ARE BACKWARDS!'

'Yeah yeah yeah, sure thing, blame the controls'

A nasty LCD stuck to a piece of wood,
    The "art" bubbling off
    chrome tmold
    Oh yea,and the button layout!

Gotta love the way the first picture on the ad is in the dark, on some level he must also appreciate the fact that it's a monstrosity.

Regarding the controls, he could have put the stupid screen a few inches higher and had it looking...normal.

But no, apparently you aren't playing arcade games correctly unless you have your hands in a piano playing position and are staring down at your crotch.

He could have mounted the screen below the wood to hide the name on it. Also there is severe bubbling in the vinyl on it. I just hope he is a kid and if so fair play to him. Thats my only hope..

Weird badge nipple things aside, is it just me or does it look like some kind of optical illusion?

My brain can't make sense of the cabinet size versus the stick and button size.
