Noticed my credit card was missing.

Checked my banking app on a whim and noticed a load of stuff had been bought at a horse shop in Maynooth - not sure if I'm allowed to say the name here.

Cancelled my card, and filing a fraud complaint

Never thought it would happen to me. Anyone else have this recently?

Is it worth contacting the shop and giving them the date and transaction amounts?

No harm giving the shop a heads up, they might have CCTV if it was an in store transaction.

If it wasn't in store, they might be able to stop goods shipping.

You could always stick something up on a social media site explainging the details of the incident.

Are you on facebook or Twitter?

I'd say yes. Mine was robbed and used in a centra but who'd remember someone in a busy centra.

A horse shop is so niche the cashiers likely recall customers.

Very odd though. How much did they spend? I'd put a saddle at maybe €300 alone.

How would this horse have been able to key in your PIN?

maybe it was a spur of the moment decision since he was suddenly financially stable

    Yeah, very weird.

    They took about 180 Euros.

I think I just caught them in time.

I'm not sure if it was in-store either. There were some more pending transactions and they were cancelled once I blocked the card.

It also said a pin wasn't used.

The banks and credit card companies cover the losses in these cases of unauthorised withdrawels or purchases.
Not out of goodness but part of their dastardly plan to route all economic activity into their cashless, chargefull, electrnic paradise.
The exception to this is if he they have real grounds for thinking you were pulling a fast one. In which case they'll investigate. In the normal course of events the bank will cover the fraudulent spending and you will get a new credit card. You won't be saddled with anything g which is the mane thing.

    What's done is done.
There's no point in closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.

This is why I dislike the new tap system, anyone can use your card.

My dad used my credit card a few months ago to buy things for his work, he must of used it on a dodgy website because someone in the UK started buying things with my card and spent literally hundreds. I reported it and didnt have to pay, you should be grand.

Good saddles can cost much more.

But i wouldn't say it would be tack you have to get it fitted for the horse. Unless they have a horse to be fitted.

I would say its riding gear for the rider. Which can be expensive too. Boots hat etc. A hat can cost 400 euro .

Should use one of those rfid protector wallets to hold card. And be very restrictive on which sites you do online business.

Not if made of tinfoil! But i would not ride in it! :P

Also a hat CAN cost over a grand. It depends on what you do. And how high a risk you have of high impact.

Britches or jodhpers are usually around 100 euro ..boots maybe 150.

Its the kind of stuff i would never skrimp on because it all has safety features etc

Upper end helmuts can be 1000 ..but well its to protect your head!

Maybe some grooming stuff would be cheap..
