In Festable/clashfinder Moxie are down as closing the salty dog Sunday night, also listed in Anachronica at the same time.

    Moxie any good?

Same here, trainers and hiking boots have got me through. Never needed wellies. It's not Glastonbury where two hours of mild rain can wreck the site.

God, I hope you are right, hate wellies!!
Have broken in hiking boots that are coming, I'll chance my old Air Force ones first though! Wellies are last resort!!

I've seen more mud in one Glasto day than all of the picnics put together!!

What would be the best way to maximise chances of parking in the yellow car park? Coming from Dublin Friday mid morning... Thanks.

It's already explained on the previous page.

I'm looking forward to him too, the feedback from his recent shows seems to be really positive as long as you're not expecting a Pulp greatest hits set (which I guess quite a few at the festival will).

Any links to the positive feedback? Was really looking forward to Jarvis, but Edinburgh review wasn't great. Saw the last Pulp performance at EP which maybe I'm best left with the great memory of if this is to be the case...

One is a band and one is a DJ, I will change the clashfinder to show this as it probably looks confusing on festable. No idea what either are like!

Ha ha. That's true. 2/3 hours light rain on the Thursday in 2013 and the site was ruined for the weekend. It's very close to the Somerset Levels which are mainly comprised of reclaimed wetlands. Thus soggy as hell and unable to deal with the footfall.

The Stradbally site is generally solid. Though near the Salty Dog could get a bit messy this weekend.

Definitely!! The worst that can happen is they get wet, you can nip out and change socks then throw on the wellies/boots.

I've worn wellies 'just incase' when there wasn't a need to, remember you can average >20km per day... would you do a 1/2 marathon in Wellies ;)

Hiking boots are perfect. My Merrall's have never let me down at ep, and they're only shoe versions. The ground is good at EP, there was torrential rain a couple of years back on the Saturday night and it was still fine on a wet weekend in general.

How long would it take to break in a pair of hiking boots? Usually I just wear runners but fear something better will be needed this weekend. Have an old pair of hiking boots but they are a bit tight so think they would tear the feet off me if I wore them all weekend.

A couple of days gentle wear enough to break them in. Sounds like it's worth investing in a cheapish pair tomorrow rather than ruin your feet (and your weekend) with your old boots.

How far is the walk from Pink Moon to supervalu in Stradbally village?

I should probably just stop looking at the weather.

Decent pair of Timberlands shouldn’t take any breaking in. If you go for a cheaper brand then expect blisters. EP means 30,000 steps a day, good footwear is a must.

10-15 mins depending on where in pink moon you are.

Aaarrrgggh. Just realised how bad a direct clash there is on Saturday circa 8:

Christine & The Queens v Duff McKagan v Viagra Boys v White Reaper. All on my list and only seen one of them before.

In better news Saturday afternoon has a dozen great young Irish acts scattered across the stages. Will be well occupied on the day which makes up for a light Friday.

Surprised you hadn’t spotted that one, think I’ll let the weather decide it for me between Christine & Duff

Too busy aimlessly focusing on all the great stuff I'll miss on Sunday.

I'll be rooted firmly in Terminus at that time of the evening, gutted to miss Viagra Boys myself.

I know nothing about DJ Moxie but Moxie the band are fantastic. Folk band that do a lot of experimental stuff too.

I assumed the likes of IDER and Georgia who are low down on the billing might open some of the smaller tent stages, but are actually headling +Subbing the Three made by music Sunday, shame as it throws both into Sunday night clash central :(

I take it the OV building is a permanent all year around feature?

Crippled with FOMO reading all the posts.

The 1975 are going to slaughter the Main Stage Saturday and take everyone by surprise.

Does anyone else feel there is not much for the Terminus stage? All this hype earlier in the year for a handfull of acts that seem to be ending at 12?

Rebuke will knock it out of the park.

Only to be matched by Jinx Lennon's spectacular stage set up and light show!

1975 songs are too lightweight, I've really given them a multiple trys!

My latest update on weather, the heaviest of the rain does look be very late Friday night but it is going to be wet Friday, no way to dress it up really.

    Re. Boots/Wellies/Breaking in etc...

I bought a pair of these the other day. I wore them around the house/garden for a bit and then tried them out for real yesterday. I went up and around the Hellfire Club. Mostly gravel tracks, but went off the beaten track a bit as well. Stood in a few puddles as well to test out the waterproof-ness. Very happy indeed and not even flinching putting them on this morning.

Available in the bricks and mortar shops if anyone was thinking of buying at this late stage.

Mrs. HarryTheSpider has a pair of these (I think), has used them for the last few EPs and ATNs, swears by them and will probably wear them all weekend.

Some changes on the Salty Dog, hopefully decent secret guests at 1am on the Fri or that still the Scary Éire slot?

And I think that Jerry Fish could have stuck on a couple of bands late on Fri night with little competition about. The Frank And Walters would draw a huge crowd at 11pm Fri but up against the Bunnymen & Strokes at the same time on Sat doesn't bode so well.

48 hours til I'm on the road!!

Wellies are fine but you need proper Welly socks or they'll chew through your feet. Find somewhere the FCA buy their socks and you'll be right.
