    Sounds to me like a prelude to him revealing an affair. He's trying to soften the blow and sussing out how you are likely to react when the big one is dropped.

    Working late and gym are not even creative covers for illicit affairs. It's textbook.

    Bit harsh imo know someone who does both and very much doubt he’s having an affair.If people work very long hours going to the gym is a way of keeping fit and healthy to enable them to keep working the long hours.
