Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Today has been a long day and I'm in terrible form. Spent most of the day in bed. My little cat keeps coming to check on me and give me lots of cuddles. He's such a cutie.

Thankfully no school for a week so at least that's a TH.

Today it has to be Tequila and tacos. Forget everything else.

The sea is like a mirror this morning.

Pure sheer ocean glass in every direction... takes the breath away and so silent. Bliss...

Heading that way for a walk right now. Nothing beats a long brisk walk by the sea on a cool still morning.

An unusual but effective mix of Leonard Cohen and Rubberbandits playing on a road trip. Dance me to the end of love must be one of the loveliest of songs.

My five cats treat the place like a hotel; in, out, in out... Each has a distinctive way of "knocking" at the door and crying. … But getting up to let them in and out keeps me fit.. and makes me happy that they are all fit and well and settled with me.

    Jacob does sleep sometimes...

Saw that beautiful shooting star (space debris maybe) off the south coast earlier just before 7pm. Never saw anything like it, vivid blue/green burn. Spectacular.

Lovely day in London with the Mrs.
Great lunch in a Turkish place (Effes) . House salad, best chicken donner I've had, lentil soup, tea.
Bought a cracking pair of jeans in a shop with the best service - I'll never buy jeans anywhere else.
    Went for really good coffee.
Met up with a friend for a drink.
    Gorgeous meal in Japan House.
Mrs asleep beside me on train.
    Happy day.

Edit : jeans man gave me a pair of boot laces free of charge, too.
Free stuff I want/need always makes me happy!

Happy that the icy spell ends soon...… Happy to be tucked up abed with three cats and a HWB. Even of my fingers are barely functional  Happy at the thick patchwork hand- knitted mohair blanket atop all the bedding!

    JUST IS SO COLD!

    "Bank down the fire"
    "Open the fire"

    Brings back

Went to get a new student ID card in college today because my name started to peel off the one I had. I knew replacement cards were €10 and I went in fully prepared to pay that. Told the girl in SAA what happened and she said that the €10 fee only applies if you’ve lost the card, otherwise they can replace it free of charge :D

A friend recommended a podcast episode to me this morning. It’s of Louis Theroux on Adam Buxton singing a falsetto version of “yesssssir I can boogie”. It lasts about ten minutes and I made the mistake of listening to it on a rush hour tube home this evening.

Laughed out loud like a loon for about five solid minutes. Laughing now thinking about it. The most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Cheered me right up!

Bought new down pillows this week. They’re immense. Been going to bed earlier just for the comfy feels.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 346 ✭✭TheFortField

Today I purchased a new mattress topper, dual control electric blanket, good quality cotton sheets and a winter duvet. It was a big investment but they’ll last years and nothing beats a warm cosy bed especially during the winter months.

Edit: Just spotted the post above mine - great minds and all that :o:D:D

Being able to walk in for a chest x ray at my leisure , leave a few mins later and not have to worry about the cost of the (free)xray.
