Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Very cheap wickets jeez the New Zealand lads havent exactly been bowling great..Englsnd have been the architects of their own downfall largly...they will need Burns to hang around, in fact they need this partnership to add a 100 to the total here to post a competitive score.

Another absolutely horrible shot by Pope and he’s heading to the pavilion with only a very modest score to his name... a horrible shot to what was a pretty poor wide long hop that should have been destination boundary.. instead Pope is destination England dressing room...poor stuff.

Lawrence then saved by about a centimeter ,a dreadful shot.

Lawrence needed this 50 to have a shot of playing the India series. Really talented batsman, early still he looks to have the temperament for this level.

Worry about Pope in that regard. Too many pretty starts.

A run rate of 2.8 runs per over... hmmmmm

Another fairly shocking piece of umpiring... nowhere near lbw and even further away from the bat having been given out caught behind, dreadful umpiring again, going about 3 inches over the stumps and the same away from the bat.

These numpires really need to focus on seeing and knowing if a batsman is out as opposed having a feeling or thinking they probably are..

There was one lbw review that was closer than the third umpire said it was. It was those impossible ones where the ball, bat and pad all meet at the same moment and he rushed it I felt. Pad first I thought but you'd get a headache looking at it.

New Zealand's day probably although England have something to play with and more possible. They have Stone and Wood to thank for hanging around with Dan Lawrence. Not only hang around but scored runs too. Wood looked very good. Lawrence on 67, is a hundred possible. I'd like to see him do it.

England got to 303. "Syd" 81 no.

Kiwis are currently 60-1 from 20. Root having dropped the kind of catch that a blind man with two amputated hands would have held.

Yep, a dolly of a catch, nice height and right in his bread basket and he only needed to move a foot to the right...Root is normally a very reliable slip fielder to be fair though.... still should have pouched that one, not a difficult chance.

Conway gone for 80. Gave it away with a one-day flick. He's furious. NZ 138/2/48

Thus far, Root's drop has cost England 37 runs.

Think the first two sessions will go a ways to deciding the result tomorrow... weather set absolutely fair for the remainder of the test...if England don’t take a minimum of three wickets in the morning they’ll be on the back foot. New Zealand end up with a lead of 130 it’s going to be difficult going....

Lawrence taking Young’s wicket at the death could be massive

NZ batsmen look confident and organized in defense and putting the odd bad delivery to the sword with accuracy, they’ll be happy with their mornings work so far...34 minutes of play into day 3... on the cusp of drawing level with England’s first innings score and 7 wickets in hand, they’ll be salivating at the prospect of at least a 150 run lead here...Broad and Anderson not giving much away but not at all threatening.

Taylor on the warpath today. Ajaz Patel will have a great opportunity on debut to win them the game.

Bracey's test career off to the worst possible start. What a nightmare. Two ducks, no runs scored and his keeping going from bad to worse.

Bracey puts down a catch that saves Blundell... NZ should be 6 down, but only 4... not the easiest of takes but he got there, it wasn’t far away from him and seemed to get a good glove on it but it bounced out...

Two missed chances via dropped catches this morning, one yesterday too.

Ultra edge showed a spike but there seemed to be clear daylight between the bat and ball. Spike seemed to be slightly before the ball got to passing the bat. Weird.
