*BRIGHT FLASHING LIGHT* SARCASM WARNING *BRIGHT FLASHING LIGHT*

I hate the way Irish people mispronounce "car," "bar," "star" etc. by using the short vowel sound and pronouncing the "r."

So it should be like "I got out of my caaaw, went into the baaaw and danced like a staaaw, daawling!"

    Go back ti'england with ye!

    Urinal.

I say 'ur-ih-nal' but I find a lot of people from outside of Ireland say 'ur-eye-nal'. Wrecks my head.

Where is the letter "H" gone? Lately the h has become silent with "an" before it.

'Hygienic', pronounced properly, has three syllables. She somehow managed to jam a fourth in there.

Pacific when the word is clearly specific.

We had a teacher in Transition year who constantly said 'pacific' instead of specific. The word specific came up so much in the class it got so annoying. Always reminds me of this

Worse still, the word 'specificity' came up a good bit too. His way of pronoucing it: 'pis-if-ity'

    It wrecked my head

It always amuses me when athletes, (usually British), who say they have 'meddled' in the Olympic Games.

They pronounce the silent c as an s

I realise this is not technically a mispronounciation, but it annoys the hell outa me:

Sickth... As in November Sickth, Henry the Sickth etc

Really, what is so difficult about saying sixth with a proper "x" and "th" sound?

As far as I'm aware, journalists are taught to use the first to avoid any trouble, but it sounds so wrong to my ears!

    Gen - you - aye - n.
The word is genuine. Gen - you - in. Not that difficult.

I also really, really REALLY hate the way some people insist on pronouncing non-English words half-original and half English.

Jalapeno, Peugeot, Ibiza... make up your blood mind!

If you want to pronounce it Spanish, the spicy green thing is called a Ha-la-pen-yo. If you want to pronounce it English, it's Ja-la-pee-no.
Where the bloody f*ck is Ha-la-pee-no even coming from?

The car is called Pur-shou. Not Pyew-shou. If you want to pronounce it English, call it a Pyew-jot.

And do I even need to explain that the island is either called Ee-bee-tha (Spanish) or Eye-bee-za (English)?

    Seriously.
