    Ohhhh very interesting!

Indeed, keeps the fans guessing, though every Slipknot fan may have already figured it out, and Custer is a sick track, the '' Cut cut cut me up, **** **** **** me up'' part will definitely be a crowd sing along. And whoever the new drummer is, fair play to him, couldn't have been easy sitting behind the kit post Joey.

Will be interesting to see if they do, Didn't go but Korn played the Olympia 2 years ago and as far as I know was tickets still tickets available close to it although they did a gig in Belfast that time too and I think were selling tickets for over 50 quid just for Korn basically as there was limited support on the tour.

Saw both bands a couple of times like others mentioned in the thread Slipknot haven't let me down any of the times I've seen them either, gonna be odd without Joey though.

Korn for a band I'm not too fussed about really were more than watchable and enjoyed them the times I caught them. Both bands I've actually never seen in an indoor setting that may change come Jan.

Was that two years ago now??:eek: I was hmming and hawwwing that fifty euro until the night before the gig and the only part left was the Upper Upper Circle of craned necks in the Olympia.

They were excellent in fairness, just an awkward position and was kinda dead there for a gig.

Slipknot indoors shall be an experience alright. A sweaty one :o:P

I'm thinking of coming up to Dublin (from Cork) on my lonesome for this if anyone is around and up for pre-gig / post-gig pints? :o

Anyone got a pre-sale code for this, I signed up but don't know how to get the code? I'm so excited to see slipknot and korn live I just can't wait

€59.50 is very steep, I'll be giving it a skip anyway.

Thanks but I'm not with Three :(. O2 Priority doesnt have the Dublin date so I can't go that way either. My friend bought a ticket with the fanclub presale a few hours ago so I think my phone is the problem. Going to my Mum's shortly and will try on her laptop.

Has the o2 priority thing not been stopped seeing as o2 no longer have the rights to the venue?

you don't need to be with them (i was vodsfone for years and my sister always sent me the code she got) just txt it and you get a reply with a code

Crisis averted, ticket got :D. Just booked online with a laptop in the end and had to go through a whole mission...but, it's done!

Just booked my tickets with the OT9EUROPE code. €59 does seem like a lot of money, but there is such a dearth of good rock bands playing here it's probably going to be the only gig I'll go to next year.

How quick do you think standing tickets will sell out i am planning on getting them at 12:30 pm tomorrow. I cannot do the pre-sale as I am not that mobile network

You can get pre-sale now using the fan pre-sale code though which is OT9EUROPE this pre-sale ends at 9am tommorrow as tickets go on general sale.

Having seen slipknot twice before, once at reading, then in the rds, I was put off going to this when I saw the price tag, and I wasn't married with a kid the last times I saw them so had more pound notes to spend.
Then the bro called and said he'd grab two tickets and I can sort him out after.

    OH GOD YES!

you don't have to be on the network as long as you have the word (slip) and the number 52010 and it will txt you back a presale password

Loving the new album, XIX is quite possibly the best album intro i've ever heard, the emotion coming from Corey is so fcukin powerful

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,096 ✭✭✭Reiketsu

I've had the new album on repeat all day, I love it :D. Stand out tracks for me are Sarcasthrope, AOV, Killpop, Nomadic and Custer so far. A solid album overall!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭senordingdong

    Album out already?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,943 ✭✭✭✭scudzilla

The lyrics from skeptic are a bit cringeworthy, about Grey, "The world will never know another man as amazing as you" Slightly over the top i think

No way. I thought it wasn't out until the 21st

    Release days are:
    Ireland - Fridays
    UK - Mondays
    US - Tuesdays

It's to do with charts even though I think the sales starting in Ireland on a Friday actually splits first week sales for artists.

What did everyone make of those ^^ 2 ^^ performances?

I don't want to say it, given I haven't listened to all 2-3 hours and just checked out some snippets..... but it seems lacking, I will return with a proper judgement if I can ever bring myself to listen to quiet that much Slipknot in one sitting. I generaly get all "angered-out" after about 8 songs :)

Lacking maybe and sloppy needs more band practice? Also heard there was issues with those streams so mightn't have translated properly not entirely bands fault. Again I also just rambled through a few tracks so can't give full judgement admittedly.

Clown seemed like he couldn't be bothered with either percussion or backing vocals.
Mick seemed rooted (bah dum tisch) to the spot, nothing new there, and they all seemed to be a bit "disengaged" with each other.
    Did Sid jump off anything?
I know it's not exactly related to the music, but their live shows have seemed livelier , maybe they'll be better by the time they get here

SLIPKNOT Frontman on Split From Joey Jordison: "We Just Weren't Able To Work Anymore"

    http://www.metalinjection.net/latest-news/drama/slipknot-frontman-on-split-from-joey-jordison-we-just-werent-able-to-work-anymore

Corey Taylor's most informative answer to date on Joey's departure:
"There's legalities [that are involved which prevent me from talking about it], but at the same time — and people need to realize this — there's respect. I'm not gonna talk about Joey's life, because it's not my place, and people need to realize that. If Joey wants to talk about the situation, he can. I can only talk about how it pertains to this band, and the only way I've been able to sum it up — and this is the broadest term — is that sometimes you're on the same road, and you'll reach a T section, and sometimes you turn together, and sometimes you split. And this time we split. It was just that simple. We just weren't able to work anymore. And that's it." "I'm not gonna sit here and dog somebody that I spent 15 years building something amazing with — I'm not gonna do that. And the fans need to understand that. And I think for the most part most of them do, but there's always gonna be those people who just want a little more so they can talk ****. And that's the only reason why they want the full story — so they can talk ****."

Maybe they're just getting on a bit :D They have been around for about 15 years by now.

It is a pity though. They used to have unbelievable energy on stage.

Pretty psyched for next Wednesday. It'll be ten whole years since I saw them last. That makes me feel pretty damn old though.
