We got Arsenal , City and United in our next three games

    no we don't
get nothing from them three games and goodbye fourth

I agree on this, we can't lose 3 games from the remaining 12 and get 4th .....................................unless we win the other 9 of course :pac:
Still a lot to play for

Yes, we are dependent on ourselves though largely, not loads of other teams.

Think Brendan probably should've gave Kevin Friend a bit more credit, we definitely got a big slice of luck today and its just a pity we didn't get those type of decisions against Chelsea, Mourinho would have been livid.

Game on MOTD2 now on BBC1.

That true, seems very unlikely! Sure hasnt Can been found out, surely he made a few errors in the last few weeks.
    Btw, where was Sakho today??

He got a nixer wallpapering two granny flats and couldn't turn it down.

Why is noel Gallagher there? He's making a mockery of the show by adding absolutely nothing.

So 4th on goal difference and the winning Europa League.

In this instance I assume we would go straight into the group stages? The EL winner goes straight into the group stages of the CL (except in some unlikely scenario such as Arsenal win the CL and finish out of the top 4), but I assume in the above case all 4 English teams will go straight into the group stages.

    He's a bit a Craic "the brodge",

Lawerson on was funnier saying our recent form is even more impressive considering Gerard is injured,
    LOL

Ya lol he said it was all doom and gloom when our best player was leaving. Gerrard wouldn't get in our best 11.

My only worry is that we're not gonna go 17 games unbeaten.

    Are we?

    Why would that worry you?

It's not like the teams around us are bullet proof.

He's yesterday's news, it's cringey stuff ... it's akin to X Factor having Harry Redknapp as a guest judge. Minimally talented and over exposed

Yeah it's fairly ridiculous having Noel Gallagher on MOTD, but when you look at who is on either side of him maybe it's not the worst idea in the world.

Not really, only need to stay above who is now behind us and overtake S'ton & Man Utd, we have to play Utd at home, from a dependency point of view we are only depending on S'ton to fall away.

Neither us, Utd, Spurs or S'ton will win all 12 of the remaining games but we aren't depending on others anymore.

    Position Points
    Chelsea 60
    Man City 55
    Arsenal 48
    Man Utd 47
    Southampton 46
    Liverpool 45

Yep, a CL spot is in our own hands. Continue this form and its a dead cert.

Minimally talented, are you for real? He was a big input into the soundtrack of my generation... alot better than the stuff that's being pelted around these these ala The Script, Kodaline, Ed Sheeran.... and dont get me started on that EDM or atmospheric digital shíte.. it's grim nowadays tbh!!

In my eyes Arsenal have third spot nailed on.

Then you have Utd, Ourselves, Spurs and Southampton.

Judging the Saints on Sundays game, they just dont have the quality up front to maintain a challenge. Spurs are nearly there but are so open to individual mistakes and add their Europa league hangover to the mix, they will continue to drop points. Then You have Utd, who have an outstanding home record (Dont ask me how) but they are just dreadful to watch and have had so much luck that they should be in and around mid table.

I think we have room for two or three slipups and we'll still get the fourth spot.

    69/70 points should scrape 4th.
25 points from the last 12 PL games puts us to 70.
We are 31 from the last 14... The last 14 included all of our rivals for fourth... I'll be gutted if we miss out on it but I'm ever so confident and hopeful that we won't.

There is alot of very tough games left for all involved yet, we have to take it literally one game at a time

In saying that, bettering 7W and 3D from 12 games won't be easy.

Yes it would be a major risk for Rodgers to play two games at once.

Agreed, Arsenal have the greatest chance of top four.. their squad is much better than the rest of us..

We are doing great after a bad start... Spurs are doing good, but if Kane gets injured they are fooked.. Southampton cant put the ball in the net.... Utd are resorting to hoofing balls up to Fellini at every oppourtunity, i havent seen football like that since Big Sam was at Bolton....... we have a good chance now..gotta keep it up now though!!

Great result today and I am delighted ,doubly so as we made some ground up with spurs and utd dropping points .
Couple of Worrying points from today though .
Looked very shaky first half , combination of Lovren in the back three and Allen sitting in front of them . Really need to see Sahko and Lucas back if we are to continue this run .
Attacking wise created very little ,we scored from our first two shots on target ,I know Southampton have a mean defence but this was the weakest we have looked Going forward since the Utd game . suspect with the amount of games and how hard we have to work in every game that the players are getting a little jaded .

That said happy with the changes Brod made at half time and we looked far more secure second half ,More minutes for Danny , and the rehabilitation of MIGs continues .

I'm bleeding locked lads!! Just back from a weekend long wedding, but I got to see the game today. We are on some roll now. We're unrecognisable from the first few months of the season. Coutinho's goal was unreal.

I'm going to sleep. I am ****ed!!

We gained 6 points on Spurs, Utd and the Saints over 6 games, how many points are we behind Chelsea? Do we have enough games to overhaul them?

We haven't conceded an away goal since 1985 either.

Some a long way from crying about leaving Spain! He never knew it could be like this... :D

He deserves to celebrate, he was crucial in that goal, and he's been excellent ever since we went to the back 3. Him and Ibe either side are two great attacking resources...

I worry for him sometimes. I'd say it'll be only be a matter of time before we become a feeder club again for Real or Barca

That will always be a worry for any star player we create. Whatyagonnado?
We just need to keep the conveyer going...

Moreno looks a good player, if he can improve the consistency of his delivery he'll be a real threat going forward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

We cant really make any mistakes in the run in. The question now is can we get more points than Utd/Spurs/Southampton. I'm more confident that we can than ever before but its still a big ask.

City, Burnley and Swansea before Utd and Arsenal. Next 5 games will give us a better picture of whats happening. If we are in the top 4 after those games i reckon we'll get the spot.

Its a shame that our start was so poor, but at the same time, a challenge for 4th was what most of us wanted, anything else was a bonus.

seriously impressed with Ibe. When I first saw him on the teamsheet in his first game I was typically cynical thinking "oh dear" but he really does seem like the real deal. Glad hes proven me wrong. Very positive player and is great at winning the ball back. Hopefully we have something great on our hands

much better option than Manquillo who hasn't impressed me one bit and should go back to Spain in the summer

Besiktas away Thursday and City at home Sunday. Going to be a really tough week.
I'm predicting Sturridge to have a really big part to play in both.

We have to draw with City at the very least if we are to keep in the Top 4 hunt, but our record is good at home to City, a win isn't out of the question.

We don't, we can drop at least 10 points from the remaining 12 games, lose to City and we have less breathing space in the last 11.
