    He is on 10 now

Mig now with 10 clean sheets.

Love the enthusiasm. He ****ing loves playing for Liverpool! He's like a proper little kid sometimes though (like the celebration w/ Sturridge).

You'll never win anything with kids eh? Future is just so promising with the age profile we have and the momentum thats building.

The future is bright, the future is orange. Red. Red!

If you watch Moreno there he's jumping with his knees we should sell...

    from last thread

Rodgers selections and placements were odd today, Markovic should have started on the right, Ibe the left (or better still Moreno and give Jordon a rest), Can was left but should have been right. Johnson should never have got near the pitch today, he could have dropped in Ibe for Markovic and that would have meant plenty of late game speed and direct running which Soton wouldn't have liked at all.

He was brilliant today, MOTM performance.

Some job done by Rodgers and the team since we last started a new thread.

Things had gotten so ****e that a bunch of posters up and left.

Now we're all sitting around, holding hands, signing kumbaya.

Have to say mané had the best audition for us today. Clyne came up as a good runner up.

Ya, credit to him. He looks a different player than at the start of the season.

Moreno's, 'Not a single fuck was given that day', impersonation.

I think most of our signings have improved since the start of the season, apart from Lovren. I know everyones positive and its great we kept a clean sheet but at times Lovren genuinely looked clueless and a liability. Maybe I'm being too harsh?

    Would rather Toure start.

Not sure how you can say that when we won, but regardless, I'd definitely disagree on the Lovren/Can point.

Thought it was great decision to put Can out left and not leave Lovren getting burnt on overlaps by Clyne.

Markovic is also fairly diligent in terms of tracking back, and while obviously not a defender, I'd actually still fancy him more in the defensive duties to Ibe, who really doesn't like a tackle imo.

I do think Moreno should have started, but I'd wager that may have been a fixture congestion/rotation thing as well.

Like all the new lads he needs time. But he can do a job for the minute, we just need to build up his confidence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

Hopefully the fact we have so many young players in the squad the effect of Thursday nights won't be so bad. They should recover a lot quicker than a bunch of lads in and around their 30s.

I have been very impressed with Mig. Seems like he has started to grow a pair and try to command that area more. With some members of the defense not being so dominant you need a keeper to step up and he is doing that right now.

(just don't try the Neuer thing too often...gives me heart attacks)

Talking about the good old days of pandas and saps, toasting marshmallows over the fire.

You're right though, it has been a fantastic turnaround. I'm delighted with it, but there was definitely a while where it was hard to see how we were going to turn it around.

If we win the Europa league and finish in, let's say 4th, then does the 5th place side get into CL. Would be nice to have united fans cheering us on in the Europa league final if that was the case

Yeah, then you could clearly win the thing until the 90th minute when you deliberately concede a few own goals and the crowd unfurl a giant 'HA HA' banner.

I can never accept this tiredness crap especially when you see tennis players playing 3/4 matches in a week lasting a lot longer than a football match
But I'm sure there's cleverer people than me who say differently

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43,311 ✭✭✭✭K-9

Patience lads, sticking by your manager is usually the right thing to do. Even if we'd tanked after Xmas, still was the correct thing to do.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

Tennis is a different sport and tennis players are playing 3/4 matches a week against other players who play 3/4 matches a week and they train accordingly.

Football teams who play twice a week will be more tired than opponents who play once a week

Tiredness might not be the correct word, but a team playing once a week will be fresher than one playing twice a week.

We have a big squad anyway so we need luck with regards to injuries to key players.

I'd take your hand off for a draw right now, tbh.

They utterly dismantled Newcastle without ever getting out of 2nd gear yesterday.
