Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So for anyone desperate enough to try...

Click save for later instead of adding to the basket.
Setup an account with Curry's UK
Use Parcel Wizard or whatever as delivery address.

It might not get past that stage (I can't Checkout Securely but I'm iffy anyway so I didn't try on a laptop etc.).
The failure is possibly due to the address or something but people on HUKD have said they've got the full way through.

Good luck if you try it, I think its too risky.

EDIT: Tried a non NI address and it worked so maybe Address Pal Would work, think they're in England.

You're able to proceed to purchase? I've an NI address saved but keep getting errors.

Check the edit. Try Address Pal

Their Postal Code if you want to check is AL10 9WN.

Changed both billing and delivery to AddressPal from Parcel Wizard. If I add directly I get the pop up error, if I add from saved I get a technical error 500. Must be a bit temperamental.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 847 ✭✭✭WildCardDoW

It worked fine for me but as you said could be temperamental.

Maybe because I did billing as a different one, I don't know.

Once I had it in the basket I didn't have to remove it to change address.

Also if you go further maybe PayPal is better, I don't know. On HUKD they mentioned that they didn't get a confirmation email from Curry's.

Got it to work, thanks for the heads up! Authorised payment with PayPal, worst case it gets cancelled in the morning, no harm done. Got confirmation emails and all.

Keeps refreshing the page once I click continue at delivery options. I can't see a selection for delivery option
I'm using Parcel Motel as both addresses

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 847 ✭✭✭WildCardDoW

    No bother.

I am tempted. Be warned loads on HUKD are doing it.

I can probably afford it due to some savings but it'd take a week or more to arrive (some are getting reports of 25/11 delivery date) so unsure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 536 ✭✭✭brainiac

    So step by step:
    - Be logged in
    - Add to saved list
    - Log out
    - Log back in
    - Click Saved items
    - Add to Basket from saved
    - Click continue

Hopefully that works, it'll look like it isn't in the basket before you hit continue but then shows up.

Looks like it will cost €520 roughly.

    Still haven't committed. Ha.

Then asked for delivery method but can't click the method

That's really unfortunate guys, didn't have an issue myself. There's an option to change the address, try going through that link on the checkout page, that's what I happened to do as I was going to change it back from AP.

Firefox, no VPN. Bear in mind they may be trying to block it now or it might be out of stock in the background and the front-end hasn't caught up.

Check out the HUKD link in page 3, they might have more ideas there if you still can't get it.

I did it on my phone, Firefox.

It seems both brainiac and I followed the step of changing address so make sure you do that.

Make sure it's not an NI address, so use Address Pal (I assume brainiac you didn't get PW or PM to work).

  • Registered Users Posts: 22 irishps5fan!

if it s curry uk then Save for later, sign out,log in again. Should work this way.

I didn't but I also didn't know about the log out first step until I read the HUKD thread so it MIGHT work for PW or PM, but AP is confirmed.

Just recreated the steps on my phone there, was able to add another one so it is still working. Delivery is automatically selected for me. Might be the address if ye're not using AP as its the only variable we should have.

Great! Now we just hope they won't cancel them in the morning to relist at 9am. Going by the Argos glitch on announcement week, they might not.

Yeah I think most if not all people did. Wednesday 25th. I'll be happy enough if that's the case but I have a feeling they'll go out earlier if honored.

Somehow managed to get through and order with Curry's uk. Using a NI address. No idea what I did to get past the select delivery options page. 1 tried putting separate delivery and billing addresses, and clicked the find my address by postcode, which filled in the address.

But, I have got an email from Curry's saying:

    "Sorry, your delivery is delayed
Hi ---- - we’re sorry to say we can’t get your delivery to you as soon as we said on our website"

Is there a way to check stock in all stores at once? Someone done this on the Xbox thread last week

It was listed at 4am. I've checked each store individually and it's the same No Stock message for all atm.

They were always going to list it on their site today, but it looks like the rumours of no stock on launch day were correct.

Did you get no stock for Jervis St. Gone through them all and it's the only one that instead of saying no stock says cannot check stock at this time

    Edit: disc version

Was it like this (no stock) at 4am for the Xbox Series X as well? If so, at what time did they update the stock?

By the way guys (provided currys honours these orders) how long does address pal take to deliver to irish address (dublin) after they receive the package at the uk address?

Have never used them before and I need to have the ps5 delivered by 4th December as I leave to go to my home country for christmas on 5th Dec.

This seems to be the most accurate answer! Seems unlikely the stock will add but it is strange the console was scheduled to appear on the site at 4AM.

Possibly they were looking to avoid a midnight rush to their servers!

Usually about 4-5 days after it arrives in London, so if Currys don't ship until Wednesday 25th, you'd be looking at 30th Nov or 1st Dec as an educated estimate.

i'd be so happy if that was the case!

Any new stock that comes into Argos its 4am.ive been watching it for the past week. Almost knocked my tea when I saw these come in but they were out of stock. Other things that came in b4 and were in stock showed immediately that they were in stock. Like there's some shark game that came in tonight as well and thats in stock.

This worked for me thanks very much , got the same e mail about delayed delivery , what are the chances they will cancel the orders and if I can get my hands on another ps5 some where else throughout the morning should I ? I really need to make sure I have 1 thanks

I would say its about 50/50. The main thing concerning me is it doesn't seem to be going out of stock. So either they've quite a lot of consoles, or the system isn't marking them off correctly. They'll either cancel all of them or none of them in my opinion.

Up to yourself in terms of trying elsewhere, if you can afford to, maybe do. Worst case you can return one.

Currys never put full name on parcels, they only put initial of the first name and full surname. This delays the parcel further by a few days. It always delays it by further 2-3 days for me and I am pretty sure on one else that uses addresspal has same surname as me but still...

Normal time frame is 3-5 working days, make it 6-7 in this case and with current An Post back log who knows but I wish you the best of luck.

Also to note Currys UK ship stuff in plastic bags, remember getting the limited ed last of us 2 pro when that came out few months back and it arrived all banged up.

Ok, so that would point to it being added on the Argos.ie website, but them having no stock at launch which is what many had been saying would be the case.

It's looking like Harvey Norman or Currys at 9am are the best bet atm.
