Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Pretty poor card for a ppv but looking forward to seeing Francis get his chance at redemption.

Suga Sean back in action as well and Luque should destroy Woodley.

    Ngannou by KO/TKO

What way will the clock change impact on this for us over here, lads?

Main event around 6am our time rather than the usual 5am-ish?

I dunno I'm really intrigued by that fight is Luque really such a guy you could make that claim for? his best wins are over Price, granted he gives a enough to suggest he's a solid fighter but can be a bit ropey and sometimes lacking edge, the drop off in Woodley has been quite something and that could continue but all those opponents negated his wrestling with superior skills in that department really, Luque may not be on the same level in that regard.

Hope Suga get sparked meself, an absolute clown of the highest order but wouldn't have much faith in Almeida on recent performances.

I wish woodley would just retire.
Has anyone any interest in watching woodley after him not even coming close to winning a round in his last 15 rounds

Its no disgrace to lose against cc, burns and usman but the manner in which
    he lost is pretty worrying
Luque will probably outwork woodley on pts imo, not been ko'd before and not been subbed since 2013 and it's doubtful surely that he'll put woodley away when the likes of burns couldn't

Can see Stipe winning after 5 rounds, very similar to the first fight. Can't see Woodley getting off this losing run of his.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,245 ✭✭✭Esse85

Wonder will Stipe be all about the single leg takedown again?
Worked so well for him in the first match.

Francis gas tank evaporated after the first round in the original match, if he doesn't KO Stipe in the first, he'll really be up against it after that.

I think Jon Jones would have an easier fight with Francis.

Take out the Wonderboy fight which was decent and Luque is on an 8 fight streak. Woodley looks done to me, completed finished. Be shocked if he pulls it back.

O’Malley looked special to me before the last fight. He does seem a clown but very exciting to watch on the feet.

Mistake by o malley there, should have gone in.

Hard watching when a fighter tries to not go overboard but pays the price.

Francis first minute KO or Stipe decision seem the only logical options.

Stipe will probably try keep his distance for the first minute so by the time they even hit each other a minute could be gone lol...so prob Francis within the first 2 mins 30 seconds or Stipe decision.

well now, that was not a 1st rounder for Ngannou nor a stipe decision.

    Ngannou is something else!

Welp, when you exchange with Ngannou in a shootout, you get what you get.

Miocic was in absolutely no rush whatsoever.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

Stipe overestimating that punch on Ngannou and suffered for it...Francis is a dangerous man when he is calm and taking his time.

It's a shame francis got into mma late if he had gotten in young he could be the goat. Now that he seems to have a bit of a grasp of the sport I don't know if I'd pick even jon jones against him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,919 ✭✭✭simongurnick

Ngannou is a top man. Love that interview. I'm a big fan of Stipe and had a couple bob on him, but fair play to the big fella.

In fairness, JJ off the peds hasn't a hope against that powerhouse.

Let's be honest here, ngannou is a big heavy weight and bones is a ped lower weight

I say smashed in one round of it even happens.

    Usman to maintain

Have you see Jones on instagram lately, hes been getting a lot bigger...still a big fight for him but hes been bulking up quite a bit for moving up.

I wouldn't be writing off Jones just yet he always finds a way
Stipe got the leg but went up and left instead of down and right like he usually does, Seems like a little thing but it was a massiv mistake and gave Francis the chance to use strength instead of balance and technic to stay standing

Also don't count out Jones being on thebpeds for this one where there is a will there is a way

Jones is far more patient and methodical than Miocic. There's no way he gets caught rushing in like Stipe did last night.

Stipe had been going alright up to the knockout. He had felt Ngannou's power and brushed it off and had gotten himself out of ominous looking situations. No idea why his cornering were shouting at him to get stuck in.

    Patient Ngannou is ominous though.

    A fight I'd definitely purchase.

Big big improvement from NGannou from their first fight. All the more impressive considering the run of early K.O.s he's been on. In their last fight Stipe made him look like a novice. In this fight he looked like he was a real MMA fighter. The fact that he was able to sprawl effectively to thwart the take-down combined with the fact that he was extremely patient with his boxing meant that Stipe didn't have any obvious openings.

Dana White must be absolutely delighted. He now has his very own Mike Tyson. Every option looks great for pay per views. He can just line up a series of fighters for NGannou to K.O. spectacularly or go for the super fight with Jones.

    Raw power from Francis..

I thought Stipe fought scared. His whole demeanour was one of avoiding.

Francis seems to have two great traits here that make him so dangerous. Real power and a solid chin..

Jones won’t take that power, and I think Francis will find Jon’s chin

Lewis to win the title would show just how weak the HW division is right now. Came across some nonsense the last few weeks about Stipe being super-top level and possibly in the GOAT discussion. Nonsense.

A healthy Cain Velasquez would be the Greatest in my opinion but he was not healthy for long enough to be the greatest!
A lot of talk about Randy Couture i think Miocic beats him every time!
Call me a fanboy but a trained Lesnar would have been an absolute monster!
Hard to argue with Miocic after all he beat Reem, Junior, Arlovski, Werdum and Cormier to name but a few!

Fedor? Very slim pickings though yeah. Cain, JDS, Couture, Mir, Werdum, Sylvia all in the top 10 I suppose.

Dos Santos was pretty special for 3 or 4 years. 9 wins in a row in the UFC HW division is no joke. Not so good off the juice though.
