Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

These new tracks acting as filler won't be around for next year. Once things open up again, the big tracks will want F1 back, so we shouldn't get comfy with Portugal, Imola or Mugello at all.

Probably the only good thing about this season as well.

Yeah absolutely. The ones without the infrastructure to host 100,000 people wont be able to compete with the established tracks. But they can fill a hole in the calendar so they might be back next year if they have to cancel some races.

I wonder will capacities ever get that high for next year, not just because F1 is boring, but also due to lingering Covid restrictions etc.

I also want to see the viewing figures for F1 soon, they have been taking a serious nose dive recently.

Perez very pally on instagram congratulating Lewis on his titles. Lewis very pally back in return.

Is there an outside chance of checo being Lewis rear gunner next year?

    I really enjoyed the race.

I just accept that Mercedes are far ahead of everyone else right now, and will likely 1, 2 the race.

No safety car. Genuinely can't remember the last race that didn't have one.

    Midfield battle was good.

    Sainz taking the lead.

Everyone ****ting the bed about tyre wear, only for it to right itself and get 15 more laps.

Ocon doing a marathon on his tyres.

    Kimi jumping up to sixth.

Vettel finishing in the points. Could have been ninth if he didn't lock up on one of the last few laps. Having to come in to be randomly weighed really screwed up his qualifying too.

Gasly racing so aggressively, along with Perez.

That's not really the issue though, can get 140k into Imola apparently. The ME races don't draw the crowds but are safely backed by blood, excuse me, oil money. Silverstone and Spa have massive capacities yet struggle to break even.
But yeah, cancelled races next year will be the only chance for those 3 to get back on I would think, and at short notice.

The utter domination by Mercedes does take away from it a bit though. It'd be a much better comp if they were gone altogether and the midfield were jostling for podium positions instead.

Max would win every race he finishes then, which while new would get boring after a while too

Get rid of Max and Merc and it would be interesting week to week as to who’s top

I disagree. I think Renault, McLaren , Racing Point and Alpha Tauri would all be in with a chance of winning with there drivers then too and it would be a lot harder to know who will win each race. It would be a lot more exciting too do.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

When Max has finished a race though he's never come behind any of those teams, 9 finishes where he always came at least 3rd and only ever behind the Mercs

They'd be in with a lot more of a chance of winning because for this season at least they would only need Max to not finish the race as opposed to Max and the Mercs

The mix of guys behind Max would be exciting because that is very different week to week, but Max would make the season look like 2004 as Michael Schumacher
