Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Wasn't us this time.

I'm confused here, Gerry Adams makes a tweet condemning the death of a young blameless victim, and you say the balaclava slipped:confused:

Edit. Oh I see now, Gerry Adams replying to Gerry Adams. Doh....

Reminds me of a certain individual thanking his own scatological posts.

"The IRA is gone" but still one of those who bombed Birmingham stated at the recent inquest that IRA leadership in Dublin gave him permission to name the bombers.
Do they think we are complete fools?

Gerry Adams has forgotten a huge amount over the years, so forgetting to switch accounts on Twitter is but a minor example of his forgetfulness.

Does any well known person who has a high volume of tweets own their account exclusively?
Where would they find the time?

To be fair? It’s highly dishonest.

As said earlier a lot of people have others operating their social media presence. Sure even before social media people other than the recipient used to reply to letters etc

If it wasn't for the serious nature of the topic it could well be Gerry replying to himself, the man has form on twitter for bizarre, irreverent, stream of consciousness tweets. More like the pr guy screwed in this case though

Did he not big up his account as being operated by himself in the past? His rubber duck posts and whatnot?

No provo here but I do find the title a pinch misleading.

Just Mi5 logging in and making use of the account for all we know.

something tells me they might know his password.

Answering yourself is a big problem.

    Nothing doing here.

I dont know. Even on boards we all have multiple accounts and we have made similar slips a times. Its just the nature of modern social media profiles.
Let he that is without sin etc.

Whoever is writing his tweets has just shown how staged they are.

“I’ll write the first tweet this way so that I can reply to it under another name this way”

Just makes the first tweet insincere.

I don't. Is this usual behaviour nowadays? It should be a site ban to have multiple accounts imo.

    Speak for yourself.

Also, aren't multiple accounts a breach of the Boards terms of use???

Gerry Adams has never heard of Twitter

Just do an ip ban on the earlier alluded to scatological poster, who has graced this very thread with at least one of his usernames so far, and half the usernames on this website are gone. It has got much worse in recent months.

But Gerry Adams understands why twitter has come about.
We need to change the environment that gives rise to Twitter and the
need for Twitter. Responsible people on the other side need to take leadership
and change the environment and situation that has given rise to Twitter.

How do you do that ?

And if its so widespread , why aren't the Mods doing something about it.??

This is probably not a growing site. Lack of appetite to ban users if there was a harmless type of multi-accounts that doesn't cause trouble. Trolling re regs would be different. But then they are probably using vpns with changing ip addresses and dns servers.

The IRA embraced peace? Yea ****ing right Gerry.

Are you Gerry, going to give the victims of the Birmingham bombings their day in court and hand over key evidence that could help with a conviction?
    Well ya ****!

The man is a pathological liar and narcissist.

Some interesting thread derailment being attempted there, can’t imagine it’ll do much to distract from the “Dear Leader’s” embarrassing faux pas though.

Not as big a faux pas as Mary Lou McDonald strutting in behind that England out of Ireland banner though.

Not much happening here except people having a bit of a laugh at Gerry’s expense.

Surely you don’t take this mistake all that seriously.

Yes that was a disaster for an Irish republican group who believe England should get out of Ireland.

Yep. I fully supported the armed struggle but that banner was a step too far.

Ditto. And by the antics by Irish republicans in Londonderry last night maybe I’ve a point pal.

I for one fully believed that the whole world had headed to hell in a handcart that fateful day I saw the leader of an Irish republican political party,(and them with a fundamental main policy of a United Ireland) and that wretched banner in the same photo.

On my knees howling I was.

A real "where were you the day that story broke?" moment and no mistake.
