Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyway here ever at the TF discos in Castlebar?
    No.

Mantra, Welcome Inn is where everyone goes.

Both the TF and Welcome Inn suck equally in my opinion.
    They both had their advantages.

You were guaranteed a good scrap outside mantra and you could always pop across to the chinese for a rice special while watching the so said fight.

With the TF, there seemed to be a lot less scum. They did have that white room running for a bit which played a lot of indie music ( me likey ).

Nowadays, I prefer to hand neither establishment my money, and I get ****faced at a friends house instead. :)

Hold the phone, you mean disadvantages, right?!

Mantra smells of puke, but you can combat this by getting loaded lol, imo you are far less likely to see a fight outside, than

TF which is full of jips and scummers, which is a shame because I like the setup there. None of the Castlebar locals go there, odd!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,939 ✭✭✭mardybumbum

Ha, just trawled through youtube there and found these two vids which pretty much sum up mantra for me.

First, Paddy Joe Tidghes mixture of an epileptic seizure with riverdance

    And then this.........

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,418 ✭✭✭Shacklebolt

I was only at Mantra once, I preferred it to TF but everyone from East Mayo seems to got to TF more often. Then there were the friay nights at the cinema, where a fight broke out every 2 minutes.

Anybody further east ever go to River Island, Castlerea?

Yup, dead on. I'm a Castlebar local, and we kinda stopped goin after 3rd year because the place was crawling with Tuam/Gyp scum.

Whoever said that you were gauranteed a fight outside mantra, I presume your talking about the overage disco:confused: the TF was where all the battles were at the teenage ones.

Ha! Had to laugh a few months ago a busload of them (16 and 17 year olds) came down to a youth disco at mantra and fcked the junior certs up. :D

Most Castlebar people tend to go to Mantra anyway but from what I hear, the Castlecourt in Westport is the palce to be on a night out.

The nightlife in Westport is unreal...went there on thursday and ended up singing in Matt Molloy's until 2.30, after watching the WolfeTones of course:D

Castlebar to an outsider is probably pretty good but ya get sick of the same oul town week in-week out...

  • Registered Users Posts: 141 ✭✭Deedeecupcake

It's either the great pretenders or goodbye venice:confused:

The festival has an official website where I looked it up a few days ago, search for it on google...

Its fairly close to Swinford they used to be at it too... I was just wondering if anyone in the general East Mayo/South Sligo/North Roscommon area was here to discuss them with me. Ginja Ninja knows them but I don't where hes been lately.

Enough of these bogger discos :P
Uhm alot of my mates go to declans in Cabra so they hafta lie about where they go to school, and have Belvo's principals name learned off :P some of them do get in, but when they want to get membership they hafta get it signed 3 times, whereas everybody else got theirs straight away.. Bit of a coincidence seeing as Dave(head bouncer) is senan connells(dublin footballer & declans irish and geography teacher) uncle :D ,

  • Registered Users Posts: 74 ✭✭TorresDaLegend

Anyway, anyone i know who has gone sober has always came out sayin they thought it was **** and couldnt wait for it to end.. And that alot of the birds were rotten :P

    *Sniffs* "Someone is calling me"

But yeah,Nothing quite like Banada, The place might only be half full and you still can't move round the place. On the odd occasion it is full.the I-Beams of the roof condense all the water in the warm air so you get drops of sweat falling on you*Shudder*

The Ginja symbol is in the sky! Its like the bat-signal but different enough to avoid copyright issues.

Oh the dripping roof was a nightmare. And then there were the nights scumbags let off fireworks inside the hall.

I'm assuming it's the City Hall of Dublin, because apparently hundreds of 15 and 16 year-old girls would be virgins without it...
