There's another that would never be made now!

It would make you sick then, and it would make you sick now

    Probably.
Well it wouldn't get the green light at all I don't think.
A black comedy about a student who
tries to blow up his school and kill everyone.
    Great film all the same.

The wind that shakes the barley
    Michael Collins
In the name of the father

Why ? Because Ireland is full of West brits these days, more interested in the royals and what they wear as opposed to our actual national history.
    Happy easter my ar*e

Michael Collins is Hollywood romanticised ****e, if you want real history watch a documentary or crack open a book.
The Wind is WOI and Civil War for slow learners, it's not great as an entertainment, like watching a school play.

Hands down one of my favourite movies as a teen/young adult.
Had great memories of it, that centred on the action.

I rewatched it as a mid-30's man a few years ago after convincing my wife it was brilliant.

It was a long cut, and a very uncomfortable watch.
So much overt sexualisation flew over my head as a younger man.

Did exactly the same myself felt weird to have recommended something so obviously creepy I had never seen the director's cut before but I used to love the film as a young lad particularly Gary Oldman so I could tell which scenes were new to me, they were all dubious. Sometimes a film was cut the way it was for cinema for a very good reason, in the normal version there is still a creepy implication in their relationship but it doesn't revel in it.

Well it basically says teens commit suicide for attention and paints teens who are suicidal as vain and superficial. That they do it to copy the cool kids.

A remake is probably being written as we speak.

Challenges to technology will keep him isolated.

    One of my favourite movies.

    Now thinking who I’d cast...

Go to man Tom Hanks. Maybe Scarlett Johansson as Grace?

Escape from New York would need a different landing zone!
Tump was itching to build that wall a few days ago.

    Triumph of the Will.

The porno remake Triumph of the Willy was better anyway.
Though it's not a hard and fast rule with Nazi topics, for instance Das Boot is better than Das Booty.

The first Star Wars. Everybody's White and there's pretty much only one woman in it. The couple of others are only onscreen for seconds, blink and you'll miss them.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Demolition Man is not funny anymore. Nearly everything in the movie is now in reality. (Except John Sparton)

Still waiting for the three shells ar*e cleaner to be invented, would put a stop to the toilet roll bulk buying mob!

i wonder after this covid 19 madness ends will millennial snowflakes/PC brigade go back to what they love best, getting offended by absolutely ridiculous trivial things.

I'm convinced these people have a mental illness, imagine getting so offended by say a film or tv series, etc from donkeys years ago, hence the mental illness because no normal people would bat en eyelid.

Yes, of course they will. Just like their opposite number on the other side who get upset that young people see thing differently from old people because of the fact that times have changed and social norms aren't the same as the used to be. The types who'd be getting cross, fanaticising about what the "millennial snowflakes/PC brigade" will be up to in the future. Are they also experiencing a mental illness? Obviously not. They might be indulging in a bit of persecution fantasy alright. I mean, do these people thing they agreed with the old people on social issues back when they were young?

But shur, whatever gets them through the current period - even if it's fanaticising about people doing things that annoy them .
