Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Since the original thread has passed the 10,000 post mark, welcome to bargain thread the second!

Based on feedback in the last thread, we're looking at ways to hopefully clean up this one just a little, but for the moment post away as normal :)

Link to the old thread, in case you want to look back and remember that time you got that game for basically nothing. Ah, a good day that was! http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054885783

Dunno whether I should be celebrating this new thread or dreading it. :)

Not sure how much of a bargain this is, but if you want the Wonderbook with Playstation Move and Eye I think €34.99 isn't a bad price

    http://www.toys.ie/Wonderbook-Walking-with-Dinosaurs-Starter-Pack-!133724-prd.aspx

I suppose adding the link and location may help. I saw it in Smyths in Letterkenny

    I borked it alright :P

Actually, speaking of the wonderbook with move, Xtravision in a few locations were selling it for €24.99 :) Seen one in the ashleaf shopping centre and 1 in newbridge i think.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Arts Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 29,713 CMod ✭✭✭✭johnny_ultimate

There were some 3DS consoles going for €50 I believe. Ditto DS with Nintendogs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,569 ✭✭✭savemejebus

Not 100% sure but from what I read they messed up and did everything ass backwards in that they sold off the 3DSs for a tenner each and the DSs for €50:eek:

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 18,693 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kimbot

10 for the 3DS, 30 for the DSi and 50 for a DS Lite.

Did anyone post Isaac being 99c? Worth a buy for those lonely, boring nights when you can't be arsed loading up a real game!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,533 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

    ^^ Steam, BTW. :)

I'll grab that tonight - great discount.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,283 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Oooh, controversial, implying it's not a real game. :pac: I think I already own it. Must take a look this evening.

Seems to be a routine now before buying a game with Steam - See bargain, check steam, check humble bundle account in case already got it there but hadn't registered, check GOG account, check PS+ to see if got it there, check other bundle sites, check isthereanydeal then either purchase or decide to wait until a steam sale.

So should PC bargains be posted here, the bargains thread in the PC forum, or both? Word must be spread far and wide if we are to fill our catalogues with crap we'll never play!

I ordered a Wii U Basic with New Super Mario Bros U for £112 with free shipping with John Lewis this morning. Not sure if it is still in stock as it seems like a good deal.

Hotline Miami is on flash sale at HumbleBundle for 1.99. For the very few who don't have it yet, well worth it at this price.

Its on the humble bundle sale too, $3.39, along with 9 other games

Probably easier to say that there's a massive Bohemia Interactive sale on Steam at the minute.

However Original Warhttp://store.steampowered.com/app/235320/ at €0.90 is an absolutely crazy deal.

One of the best RTS games I've ever played.

    Steam or Uplay?

Even if you get it on Steam, you'll still have to use uPlay.

I still want the Steam one though. I am literally lazy enough that I will wait for a Steam price drop instead of adding a shortcut through Steam to play it.

If you're looking for recommendations then Far Cry 3 for €7.50 is a very good deal. I'm sure it'll go on sale at some point for €6 or €5 in another for months but it's a cracking game. Tomb Raider is there at the same price although I haven't played it myself. If you like sandboxes, Just Cause 2 is a steal at €3.75.

In terms of indie games Papers Please is there for €4, definitely pick that up if you hadn't already. It's a very clever little game, got rave reviews when it came out last year too. Monaco is a pretty fun little heist game that has both online and local co-op, you won't get it for much less than the €3 it's going for. Also while I still haven't played it, I've heard very good things on here and around the web about Gone Home which is €5 right now.

Have played gone home myself, it's more of an interactive story than a game. Still some nice ideas to story telling. Only about 2 hours long but worth the €5 imo

And I had my eye on Monaco, is it as good as it sounds?
Papers Please looks a but monotonous. but I can't look at any videos of it at the moment
