Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Was thinking of joining Tallaght leisure centre.

Anyone got any opinions on it?

Is there a good selection of weights in gym.
A good pool with lane swimming that's not over crowded?

Consider Westpark fitness ... depends on where you in live in D24 I suppose.

It's on the Greenhills road. www.westpark.ie

You can get a free 3-day trial at the moment so you can try before you buy as the saying goes.

They also have an option for 3 month membership at the moment and pay-as-you-go options on Fri/Sat/Sun

I was Tallaght Lesiure Centre very small join and always packed.
I am now in Fit4Less , great gym , very spaces and is never packed.
Very cheap only 30 a month with no contract. Would definitely recommended it.

Oh I was going to join Fit4Less but according to their website they cut out "unnecessary extras like swimming pools and saunas."
Since when is a swimming pool unnecessary?

    Won't be joining there, so!

A swimming pool is most certainly not necessary for a gym. If you want a swimming pool you're looking for a leisure centre. 90% of gym goers dont need the additional option of having a pool to swim in.

Tallaght leisure centre is great, but can be busy at times.

Very surprised at Tallaght NOT having a top class Gym.... they all seem to be Crap.
for example take a look at Westmanstown 15 - 20 mins drive from Tallaght.
Anyone got any decent ideas for gym membership in D24 area . with sauna pool etc

I have been looking around also.

Apparently the pool in Tallaght Leisure centre has a boom, which has been broken for a long time and doesn't look like getting repaired any time soon. this effectively reduces the pool size to 17m, so useless for lane swimming.

Flyefit have opened up a new gym in Belgard Square which is supposed to be very nice. But no pool.

Tallaght sports complex in Kilnamanagh have a 25m pool, but you really can only do lanes in the morning, 7.30-9am. Gym is complete joke. Few machines thrown into a spare room.

Club vitae in the Malrdron is 20m and is very warm. Like bath temperature warm. No lanes, tourists everywhere. gym is ok.

I'm thinking of going to Clondalkin pool to see what its like, but membership is expensive.

The pool in Tallaght will never be repaired.

If you take out membership in one of Tallaght/Clondalkin/Lucan Leisure centres, you get to use all three

Why is that, just out of curiosity?

I didn't know that membership of one of the leisure centres allowed you to use the others, useful info there. Cheers

I'm open to correction but afaik, the boom in Clondalkin was damaged twice and was fixed by a specialist team who spent the day under the water using diving tanks.

Boom is damaged in Tallaght but I'm told the roof needs to come off (or similar) and to get a new part in - otherwise the specialists from the UK would have fixed it at the same time as Clondalkin.

Westpark fitness is a good gym but it's pretty expensive
