Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have had a few done already

    Top scorer Rashford @ 25/1

Sheff Utd to be relegated @ 4/6
West Ham top 10 @ Evens
West Ham best of the rest @ 15/2
West Brom to be promoted @ 3/1
    Scunthorpe Top 2 @ 10/30

    Betting without big 2 Hearts @ 4/1

Betting without Juventus, Ac Milan @ 7/1

Mixture of doubles, trebles and accums. Total stake €50

    Hopefully still interested @ xmas

David Silva might be worth a small bet for player of the year.
Last year with man city before he moves on, if he plays a part in them being top of the league around the time fo voting, it has a chance of coming in.

Juventus 10s to win the Champions League is a nice price.

Had a good campaign, Ronaldo still Ronaldo, they've strengthened and the addition of De Ligt makes them a contender

I fancy Brighton to be relegated @ 2/1, I backed Ipswich to be relegated after they sacked McCarthy last year. I think Brighton might suffer a similar fate after getting rid of Houghton.

  • Registered Users Posts: 803 ✭✭✭langer91

    Sunderland to be promoted 11/8
    Leicester w/o big 6 10/3
    Barcelona 4/6
    Celtic 1/3
    PSG 1/8
    Benfica Evens
    Juventus 1/2
    Dublin (GAA Football outright) 1/2

Roughly 115/1 Acca to keep me interested for the year

14s is a little skinny for my liking even for sentimental value for that price id want someone who is a regular starter

    Juve & Barca o/r , Leicester top 10 , Fulham & Portsmouth top 6 , Mansfield top 7 - 100£ at 20.5/1 , the aforementioned with Celtic o/r , Lyon top 3 , Rb leipzeig top 4 and the dubs to beat Tyrone for 50£ for 4K. Gl all

You definitely read RP pull out :D Fulham & Portsmouth top 6 , Mansfield top 7 going to be the basis of my bet too. Will post up by Thursday once I've staked.

Yup Mansfield & Portsmouth were locked down for me but the RP pull out just made me more confident. Championship I was leaning towards Cardiff / Leeds but RP weren’t too hot on Cardiff and Bielsa is such a mad man he could walk at any moment, so Fulham it is ! Quietly confident of the 20/1 bet, Atletico might Run Barca close this year thinking I maybe should have done them without the big 2 @ 4/6.

Leeds are the Shelbourne of the UK... Was never touching them LOL!

Atletico lost a few key players... Backed them last season W/O think I'll avoid them this season tbh.

Would I be right in guessing the RP see Fulham as the most likely winners of the championship ?

Not that I remember off hand, will post tomorrow after work. They do a page by page on each team and that. IMO very little value in Premier League as the bookies normally have things spot on - only two things that stood out to me personally are West Ham Top Half finish at 6/5 & Aston Villa Best Newcomers at 4/5.

Yup, there is a mix of opinion though. They've kept onto a lot of their squad, surely they should go back up maybe not win it but 2nd spot.

As a West Ham fan they are great odds. Exciting new talent brought in. Anderson will be much better this year, Yarmalenko back, the crocks have been shipped out. I think they will be best of the rest

I backed the same bet last season and they made me sweat! They look stronger this season though especially up front.

I wouldn't and didn't go near them last season. Everyone knew it would be a bedding in Season and again we suffered with Injuries.

There is not a lot of strength in depth in the Prem this season and we look maybe along with Everton and Wolves as(Think they won't do as well as last year) to be fighting it out for 6th or 7th

Another RP man here and Ladbrokes prices,

    Leicester top half finish 1-2
    Brentford top half finish 1-2
    Porthsmouth top 6 finish 4-6
    Mansfield top 7 finish 4-7
Falkirk to win Scottish L1 4-7
Barcelona to win La Liga 8-13

Had considered WH also but thought Leicester were the more established side
Picked Brentford here over Bristol City, as things stand they'll easily hit it but i'm hoping they're not too hard hit before the window closes
I did like the look of Newport in the same market and at a bigger price

And Dundee Utd were on the original ticket for the Scottish Championship but some of their pre-season results have scared me off.

Hedged my bets :) Atletico in the middle of a transition, lost a lot of good players. Valencia held onto most and should be solid again this season.

Mate of mine who follows Spanish football is very enthusiastic about Sevilla this season. They are 1/2 for top 6 (a market that is hard to find in most bookies) but he said they are a decent shout for too 4.

There's a market I just can't get away from, Everton and Leicester both to score 59.5 goals is 18/1 with PP. It'll go very close imo with two attack minded coaches.

Had a small stake on that at 22/1 - seems achievable given that they were at 54 and 51 last season and Everton have signed a striker and Leicester will have a more attacking coach for a full season.

However look back a previous seasons and usually only 3/4 teams per year score 60+ goals and unsurprisingly it’s usually the big teams in the top 4.

I think Everton have only scored about 3 goals in about 6/7 preseason games

Anyone any thoughts on the premiership sack race? I'm thinking I'd be close to a sure thing if I backed Hodgson, Bruce and Solskjaer. Can't see anyone else close to the firing line, and surely at least one of them will have the proverbial 'slow start'?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,976 ✭✭✭Trimm Trabb

Poured over the specials markets on Premier League with PP, ladbrokes, betvictor and william hill. Bigger stakes on the first 4/5 selections and the rest are just for fun:

Leicester top half/Newcastle bottom half 4/5 (Ladbrokes)

Spurs top 4, Everton & Leicester top 10 and Brighton & Newcastle bottom half 2/1 (BetVictor)

City win the league, Spurs top 4, Sheff Utd relegated 7/2 (PP)

Liverpool top 2, Leicester top 10, Newcastle bottom 10, Sheff Utd relegated 9/2 (WH - they sent me a link to this price so not on their site)

Liverpool top 2, Wolves to finish outside top 8, Brighton relegated 8/1 (WH)

Billy Sharp to score 10+ goals 10/1 (PP) - don't really think it will happen but seems overpriced

Liverpool and Man City to win first 5 games 12/1 (WH)

City win the league/Liverpool and Spurs top 4/Arsenal outside top 4/Brighton relegated 16/1 (PP)

City win the league/Liverpool and Spurs top 4/Arsenal outside top 4/Newcastle relegated 14/1 (PP)

Leicester and Everton to score above 59+ goals 22/1 (PP)

Leicester, Everton and Wolves to score 59+ goals 150/1 (PP)

Also did William Hill specials of Salah top goalscorer at 7/1 and Liverpool win league/Salah top scorer 20/1.

One other market which I think their is decent value and potential for accums is the 'Player Season Premier League Goals' on William Hill. Below are some of the ones I liked, have them in descending order based on how confident I'd be on them hitting their target:

    Firmino over 11 goals 8/11
Josh King over 9 goals 8/11
Che Adams over 6 goals 8/13
Diogo Jota over 9 goals 5/6
Dele Alli over 6 goals 8/11
    Son Heung-Min over 11 goals 10/11
Chris Wood over 7 goals 4/7
Gabriel Jesus over 11 goals 10/11
Wesley Moares over 7 goals 8/11
Felipe Anderson over 6 goals 10/11
Gerard Duelofeu over 8 goals 10/11
Leandro Trossard over 4 goals 1/1

Gone with this as my main antepost interest.
    Also on:
    1. City 2. Liverpool 3. Spurs
    Sheffield United lowest scoring team
    Brighton bottom at Christmas
    Relegation trebles Villa/Burnley/Norwich and Sheffield/Norwich/Newcastle
    POTY: Pogba, Aubameyang
    YPOTY: Wan-Bissaka, Tielemans, Gomez
    Winner/Top Goalscorer: Liverpool/Salah
Top team scorer trebles: Sterling/Milivojevic/ Sigurdson and Wilson/Delufeou/Abraham
Request-a-bets: Arsenal top 4 finish, Leicester & West Ham top half finish, Brighton & Norwich to be relegated
Haller, Kean, Nicolas Pepe, Rashford & Vardy each to score 15+ PL goals
And a Euro-acca: Inter without Juve. Lyon without PSG, Leverkusen top 4, Mallorca relegated
