Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Let us know pls if you get any update.

I ordered on the 4th and will also update.
Do they fulfill the order in the whole for those who got them shipped?

I ordered on the 3rd of March

Pity they are closing down we ordered from them in the past and they have a great selection of books.

Online didn't suit their business model.

Previously sales agents left a box of books in an office.
Office workers picked some and agents then collected the remainder, took their commission and paid book people.
    No packing or delivery costs.

    They recorded decent profits.

They move online, but keep the old pricing model. They did massive amount of orders, but gave far too many discounts and free shipping so found it near impossible to make a profit despite £50m turnover.

Unfortunately they made the simple error of not calculating all of the costs. Operating online is not as cheap as it seems.

Estimated Loss is in region of £10-15m

My delivery was split in two but wouldn’t have fit in one box so can understand it.

But one disappointed child here today, one of the box sets I ordered was the Mr Men collection, meant to be 52 books. And instead I got a set of mr men pencils and rubbers. Chances of getting the right books now are probably zilch. Have contacted them anyway but will see.

Ah bollix. Ordered the Mr Men collection too so probably won't get them now either.

Ah it might have just been mispicked by someone in the warehouse. I ordered the same set in Little Miss and that was fine.

Think I read earlier in the thread that at least one person who ordered for parcel motel delivery got their order split into multiple deliveries so thay had to pay the parcel motel fee multiple times?

Our order was split between 7 debits on our credit card, does this mean we will get 7 delivers to parcel motel does anyone know? Was having a chat via twitter direct message but that's stopped and history gone as they have closed the account.

Our original order was for 7 books in one transaction.

I placed an order for 20 kids books/sets on 3 March and chose to have delivered to AddressPal UK to avail of the free delivery. I was charged just the once for all items so no separate transactions.

My order has been split into five batches - I've gotten three individual sets so far in mid March and the rest of my order has been split into two boxes - and according to the Hermes tracking emails, those were delivered to the UK AddressPal hub earlier today so hopefully they will be in the post office for me to collect later in the week. Bit of a pain paying AddressPal five times but that's the risk you take when using a parcel forwarding service and I got a lot of books for my little one for half nothing so it still works out as a good deal.

I've gotten updates and tracking information for every dispatch but they went straight into my junk folder so maybe check your junk folders just in case.

Nothing. Ordered 3rd March to home address. It seems they're prioritising UK deliveries (those who used PM etc) as they're getting emails at least....
I guess we just keep waiting for a few more weeks. It's 5 weeks since I ordered, somebody here said to give it up to 7.

  • Registered Users Posts: 51 ✭✭donegal12

My order 4th march was to a northern address.

It is a total joke... Im sure that even if they bother to send the order I will not even get half what I ordered...

Will wait one more week and the paypal dispute

When you ordered they very clearly stated that orders would take approx 4 weeks.

Add in the coronavirus issues and very strict social distancing in warehouses and that simply adds to the delay.

I deal with a very large UK based company. they can normally deliver orders within 5 days - it's now taking them 12-15 days and they have a massive amount of automation

So its neither a joke nor a total joke and then you put an assumption that you will only get half of what you ordered.

Maybe you need to chill just a little

"people" that's plural. One single poster seems to have got an incorrect item.

Can you show me any other to back-up your claim of "people"?

    Just saying...

To be fair when I ordered the timescale said 10 working days. The following day I did a second order which mentioned the 4 weeks. I didn’t get the first order for around the 4 weeks. Wasn’t the end of the world though!

Yeah I have ordered a lot but we don't mind waiting i think with most people it's the worry of not getting anything at all and losing out on a refund if they did go into receivership.
I can't wait for the books to come tho my kids are big into reading and they will be a nice thing to keep them busy.

Exactly! It was me that got part of the wrong order-Mr Men pencil set instead of books, and I have emailed to try sort it. But saying that I saved so much on all the books I ordered that I’m not too worried about it and have still saved a fortune even allowing for the mistake.

You might have better luck ringing and speaking to someone they have a phone number on the website.

I know what you mean about the cost you'd be just glad to get something I ordered a lot of books so cheaply I don't even know how they can sell them for so little. I got MR men pencils for like 79c for 24 pencils

32k orders between mine on 3rd and 6th.

    Team of 60.

From my own experience in online management, they should be able to process about 4,000-5,000 orders per day based on 60 fulfillment staff.

But orders come in 7 days a week, staff work 5 days a week. Add coronavirus restrictions and you may as well add a couple of weeks extra time.

It would be great to get them in the next 10 days - my two God children could do with more books

Received mine today through Addresspal. Ordered over 10 books in 1 order received in 2 boxes. Postage was hefty at 19eur but still great value for the whole lot. Thanks again to OP

They don’t always seem to be going in order. I placed my order at the start of March and got it last week. But the day after I placed that order I put in another one. The second one was only for two books (well multiple copies of two books). I got that second order about two weeks after I placed it and still had to wait the five/six weeks for the earlier order.

Ordered with delivery to ROI, kind of wish I used parcel wizard or similar now.

Maybe they set all the ROI deliveries aside and will send all at once, here’s hoping.
