    Hi
Bit of a long shot, but I'm over doing the galway bay swim on July 21 and always try and bring a couple of lads over from Manchester as they absolutely love it. One of our boats has just fallen through, and I'm a bit stuck. The lad who needs it is pretty quick and should take him under three hours, but between the jigs and the reels it'll be half a day at least. Any rib, or sea boat that is up to the job of keeping a slow steady pace would do. We raise money for charity, but I'd happily pay a reasonable fee. I suppose a boat based in clare or galway would be easiest. The swim launches from aughinish point very near kinvara, and each swimmer has to meet their boat about 3k out where all the boats wait, and then is accompanied for safety reasons by the boat over to Blackrock. I'd also happily extend free drink for the evening to anyone who could help.
I know it's a long shot, but my other option is to buy a boat, and I'd rather avoid the maintenance hassle really until I'm home more permanently.
If anyone knows of anyone who may be able to help, that'd be great.
    Thanks for reading anyhow.

Good luck.. My boat is too small for you .. I'd say if you get word out you will get a volunteer boat .. looks like a great event ..

    FROM the www
Note: If you are planning to swim this year, then we strongly recommend that you start organising your own boat and crew to accompany you on the crossing. Applications are completed online, through Eventbrite. From this, swimmers are offered a slot on the swim on a first come first served basis if applicants fulfill the following criteria:

Provide your own boat (along with a Captain and one Crew member) to accompany you on the swim. Note: the type of boat most suitable is a 5 metre Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) with a 50HP engine. A VHF radio is mandatory. Lake boats or boats that are not used regularly on the ocean are NOT acceptable

Thanks very much. I actually have one boat, and had a second, but he had to drop out due to work commitments. I may just have to bite the bullet and buy one.
Thanks for the reply though. It is a fantastic event. This'll be my third time, and I suppose that on top of the charity, it brings abit of money into the country bringing a few tourists over.
