Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tesco have the Pampers Mega packs for 15 of your finest Euros at the moment. That's the biggest pack and also the best price per nappy I've encountered since James was born.

Wellies inf sizes for 2 euro

Got lovely purple dresses and tights for the girls in penneys in Blanchardstown (well my mum did!) down to €4...

Also two pairs of fleece pj's for Saoirse (9-12 months) not sure if any other sizes for €3!

Moonbeam, do you find that D is a little petite for her age? Addie sometimes still fits into 12-18 month stuff depending on the shop I buy... Saoirse is nearly as tall as her but skinnier! So finding I have to buy nearly same sizes for them!

3 Pack x 260ml Avent Bottles in Tesco reduced to Half Price of €9.56, I think the smaller bottles were reduced also

I bought some of these this evening but when I opened the box the plastic looks quite cloudy?? Is this normal??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,862 ✭✭✭✭January

    Are they BPA free?

  • Registered Users Posts: 187 ✭✭newmammy2011

    Yes they are BPA free.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,862 ✭✭✭✭January

My Boots BPA free bottles are a lot less transparent than the ones with BPA I had with my first daughter. It's a softer plastic too. Think it's just the way they are?

  • Registered Users Posts: 187 ✭✭newmammy2011

Yes I did think the plastic seemed softer too.
This is my first pregnancy but I used to mind kids a couple of years ago and their bottles had seemed a lot clearer. I thought the bottles I bought looked like they had gone through the dishwasher a few times!!
    Many thanks for your replies

Yep the new ones do look odd, clear but cloudy.
Also the newer ones are yellow, they are extra durable and bpa free, but the really look odd. Makes all formula look like breast milk.

Lidl have a few useful baby things coming up.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,862 ✭✭✭✭January

Might pick up the baby gate... we had a Lindam one but found it didn't fit the stairs properly... Saoirse is crawling now and while Addie knows how to use the stairs (we had a mishap last week where she fell over one of the dogs :| ), little miss is starting to try climb them too!

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 17,231 Mod ✭✭✭✭Das Kitty

Those sleeping bags are brilliant. Highly recommended!

Yeah might get a gate too, we have one at the bottom be good to be able to let him down upstairs too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,124 ✭✭✭wolfpawnat

Oh thank God! Aidan is getting too big for his other ones and I like having his back nice and warm!

Also I hate how he is able to get into the kitchen and I could never get a gate long enough! And the ones with extensions are fairly costly. So this could be as cheap as 25 with an extension!

Bought a Petite Star Zia 4 (4 wheels and has a bumper bar) in Argos yesterday for €93.99, it's lime green and I am in love with it... the normal Zia's (3 wheeled ones) are €180+ here!!

Haven't a clue! I love the four wheelers, and I love the fact there's a bumper bar on it too... it still lies flat and is the same size as the normal petite star zia... but you can only buy it in the one colour at that price, so if it doesn't bother you!!

All the supermarkets are giving great bargains on nappies and wipes.

When it comes to baby clothes I love good quality, preferably organic baby clothes for my little fellow and I found that there are great bargains to be had on line on good quality organic baby clothes.

I find that aldi or lidl nappies are good during the day but when it comes to the night time they have a tendency to leak.

think its 2.78, i'm not mad about those wipes myself.

Dunnes are having 10% back in Easter mailing on baby food, essentials (presume thats nappies and wipes etc) and clothes. Today and tomorrow for the children allowance.

    They're €2.98 just checked the website :)

Just checked the site its 2.98 for these ones so it three packs for 2.98 would not pay 2.98 for one pack no wonder they have to do a deal total ripoff.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 18,968 Mod ✭✭✭✭Moonbeam

Dunnes has good deals of liga red box is 2 for 3 euro, normally it is 1.99 each.
Johnsons baby bubble bath and bedtime bath 1/2 price along with I think all the Johnsons products.
6 for 6 euro for the baby wipes.

Penneys have baby trousers/jeans pretty much all sizes 3 - 18 months for €2 & €3 each, they're fairly nice quality too :)

I always find pennys clothes little tight but nice and long, Elisha not even that chubby as most her baby weight going and she only just 11 months. I've to buy size 12-18months and they getting tight now. Does anybody else find the tops in pennys can be a bit hard getting on, they dont have any buttons on a lot of t-shirt and sometimes i cant get some over her head.

Is this just me or does anybody else have same prob?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,862 ✭✭✭✭January

Addison is petite... I don't seem to have that problem...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,625 ✭✭✭wmpdd3

I find it small compared to Tesco and Next and way smaller than Dunnes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,880 ✭✭✭caprilicious

THey're definitely smaller alright, I normally tend to buy a size up for Rose.
At €2 a pair, I can live with having to roll them up when they legs are a bit long on them :)

In general I find the sizes vary so much between the different brands, whats designed to fit a 12 month old in Dunnes varies greatly from the same age clothes in Penneys/Next etc, it can be really frustrating sometimes!
