Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    https://www.explainxkcd.com/wiki/index.php/1704:_Gnome_Ann
This comic presents a series of images depicting a female gnome who is known as "Gnome Ann". The humor derives from the fact that the name "Gnome Ann" is a mondegreen of the phrase "no man". (For clarification, "gnome" is pronounced as in the fantastical creature and not as in the Linux-based Gnome desktop system.)
The Witch-king of Angmar was given a prophecy that he would never be bested in combat by the hand of man, and he boasted "no man" could kill him. Both in Lord of the Rings and this comic, he is defeated by a woman. Gnome Ann is simply that good. Note that in the Tolkien legendarium, a "Gnome" is an archaic name for the Noldor tribe of elves (e.g. Galadriel).

Every time I read the word "Momo" I keep thinking of Michael Ende's book (the author of the Neverending Story, among others). Then I see that horror of a face and my heart skips a beat. I hate it.

Couldn't figure it out either. Although knowing the poster it's probably going to be some sort of alt-right, anti-feminism nonsense.
