Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The narrator is a bit of a Muppet, but this is a good lil documentary about Zabits background and childhood. The same page has one about khabibs upbringing too. Interesting. Trained killers since kids.

Rumble signed with Bare Knuckle which gave me a mini heart attack thinking about the damage he would do, but it seems to be in a development role for the time being.

Yeah he seemed to get mad about that! He was pissed someone started the rumour he was fighting for them.

Thats a dream matchup right there

Actually from looking at Poirier's twitter he seems to be hinting at him & Ferguson being on the 236 card so I think Max is just having some fun with it.

Collapsed lung, different, doesn't involve bone poking through the lung, hurts lick **** but easily fixed.

I knew that. Don't know why I said puncture. How did he finish the fight with that

In a lot of pain I'd say. I had it happen after a heavy clash in a rugby match when I was a younglet, wasn't very nice, tears were unashamedly shed.

Jasus no discussion about Big Frans win over Sea level Cain. Has to be a title shot or stipe rematch for Francis next.

There was as no event thread with it being Monday. And no spoilers allowed here. I'm guess it's ok now.
It's kinda a tricky one. When I watch it first, I thought he was clipped with an uppercut. When I seen him land in a W, I said "there goes his MCL".
But now it's not clear if his blew because he fell, or if he fell because his knee blew.

    Also Ice Cream Kron. Delicious

Has there been any update on the knee? Ngannou showing real promise out there again. He's really turning things around after the Stipe/Lewis fight.

Would getting clipped not be the better outcome in terms of Cains career? All fighters can get clipped and lived to fight another day. Not many can keep fighting when their body struggles to last a full minute.

If you go back and look at the open workout, right at the end Cain’s knee buckles, he shakes his head and immediately waves off the workout.

He definitely wasn’t right, but Ngannou certainly connected with the uppercut to finish him.

Yeah, he got clocked. You can see his head snap violently.

Also, given how much he screamed when the knee went out from under him, he seemed pretty mobile afterwards. A funny one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,588 ✭✭✭derfderf

Cain wasn't out after the uppercut. He reached straight for his knee as he fell. He was going down anyway, but he might have been able to recover if the knee didn't pop.
One of my favourites ever since he smashed Brock, it was tough to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,397 ✭✭✭xckjoo

I don't think it really matters if it was the knee or a knockout to anyone but Cains team. Ngannou finished what was in front of him pretty decisively and that's all you can ask in a fight. Looks like he's well over his yips now. Looking forward to seeing what he brings to HW going forward.

TBH I wasn't impressed with Cain for the ~20s of action we saw in the match. He didn't look to be implementing much of a gameplan. Hopefully he's fit to fight again and we get to see if he has more to offer.

If Cains knee went while he was standing the finished was nothing to do with Fran. Which is the argyenebt a side are making.

But I don't that's what happened. I think a shot blipped him for a second. His weight drop, and his knee either popped on the way down or when he landed.

He landed like a child with wonky legs.

I got worried when he attempted a few head kicks tbh. Should have been spamming low singles.

Def don't think Adesanya deserves a shot yet, he might've possibly had one of the easiest runs to a UFC title shot I've ever seen

Disagree really, Romero is coming off a loss and missed weight in his last fight. The only other option is Jacare, who Gastelum has fought and beat.

This is the fight to make. Adesanya is probably the most exciting propsect in the UFC at the moment.

Yeah I can see it from your view but I would've preferred to see him fight the winner of Romero/Costa or even Jacare or Weidmann before getting a shot.

Anyway surely Whittaker wont be out that long? Why didn't they just wait an extra month or so and make the Gastelum fight again?

I know, Adesanya v Costa/Romero would definitely be a good option too. But that leaves Gastelum on the sidelines.

I'm no medical expert but I doubt Whittaker would be ready this side of the summer. Sounded like his injury was fairly violent. He hasn't fought since June of last year and there's a great fight to be made between Adesanya and Whittaker so I'm all for it.

Is it just me that isn’t too excited about Adesanya?

I don’t know, he just doesn’t really do it for me, and I don’t think the hype he gets is warranted for what he has produced thus far.

I mean, he made a 43 year old Anderson Silva who has been a shell of himself since he’s been off the PED’s and 1-5 leading up to that fight (which should have been 0-6 as the Brunson decision was a robbery) look decent. Decisions wins against Vettori and Tavares. Meh.

He could certainly prove me wrong by beating Gastelum and Whittaker, but at the moment I feel he has a reputation that isn’t really justified.

I know it’s a different division, but look at someone like Prazeres who is 10-1 in the UFC and his only loss being to Kevin Lee 4 years ago, yet no-one knows who he is! Ponzinibbio in the welterweight division is on a 7 fight streak with some brilliant wins and although much more well-known than the aforementioned, nada.

Prazares lost to Paulo Thiago in the UFC too before the Kevin Lee fight at Welterweight (which is what he has fought at in his last two fights).

He must hate the Lightweight cut

Al Iaquinta said on Unfiltered that they he has agreed to fight Poirier but Dustin is holding out for more money, he also said Conor v Cowboy is being set up for July and Max is coming up to fight Tony for the interim belt.

He missed weight as a lightweight 3 times, he was forced to move up most likely.

i thought that whittaker was not able to train till june? is there even a need for an interim belt?

is it just me or is anyone else starting to get fed up with interim belts and super fights?

i see cat zingano lost her appeal to get her last loss overturned over the toe poke. i honestly thought she would get it over turned
