Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I got there in the end. Different email, different card. Wouldn't process for me on my PC at work. Possibly because of work VPN but don't know for sure. Tried it on home laptop and went through no problem.

Had the same experience! Couldn't get it to work at work but got it now through the mobile.

Seems to have worked perfectly for me, with a new email address (as I had signed up for similar deal last year). Cheers for that. Hopefully, it'll continue to work fine.

Looks like Eurosport have billed me £39.99 ,sub must have automatically renewed from last year.
    Sneaky maggots .
I dont think I ever even used it .
Have cancelled now so money should be refunded.

I've a 14 day cooling off period as standard .
I cancelled and it says subscription ends 25th Nov 2018 so I expect my money will be refunded in full.

fair enough. a lot of such subscription renewal systems aren't as forgiving.

With the Polish offer, will commentary be in Polish?

I suppose it would still be better than listening to Carlton Kirby.

I'm usually vigilant with automatic renewals but I was also caught with this one and they refused to refund me when I contacted them.

No advance notice of upcoming renewal and no cooling off period. That's shady practice in my book!

    Lesson learned.

I think this was as good as state din the registration email. Buyer be ware and all that. I cancelled a few weeks ago and got an email back confirming cancellation but also stating I would have access up to the 24th November. I think it may have been possible to cancel the subs last November but still have access for the year.

Got stung as well. Been trying to log in the last 3 weeks but forgot my password. Tried the password reset but never received the emails to reset the password. Miraculously, one came into my inbox today, a day after they took the money!

I've opened a dispute with PayPal in the hope they'll take a more sympathetic approach to subscription traps.

Maybe the email was considered spam by your provider? I got emailed from Eurosport a month or more before expiry, warning me of the pending expiry and whatever price they were going to "offer" me to resub.

No odds now, I guess. I would, however, hound them about it.

14 day colling off was served last year so I'd imagine you are bound by the terms this is a rolling subs that you did not cancel in time.

Set a reminder to cancel your subscription after the cooling off period.
Otherwise they'll automatically re-charge you in 12 months time

Can anyone tell me the best way to cancel? They don't make it easy

You can log in on your account and cancel it immediately after signing up. It still works for the year. I did that last year and it worked and did the same yesterday after registering then proceeded to watch the race. Worked fine.

I'm in the app and there's nothing in the Account option to cancel. Am I missing something?

try logging in on a browser - sometimes in apps they don't have all the options.

even a browser on your phone with desktop mode selected should work.

I bought a Black Friday 2018 sub for the same price(Polish sub). My account says it will auto renew on 23rd Nov for the same amount!. Great value I use it mostly for the snooker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,440 ✭✭✭califano

However I do remember canceling the next payment through PayPal so I fear even if my eurosport account says it will auto renew I dont think it will because I stopped future payment in PayPal

Is there anything to stop Eurosport from increasing the amount of your next renewal 2 weeks before the renew date?

I'd take a screenshot of the amount you're getting it for.
Then if they increase it you can protest using your screenshot.

Well they just doubled the price! :-(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,393 ✭✭✭Grassey

Same. Was expecting 45.5 to go through.

From the site, assume it said the same last year when I signed up.

Price Special offer on Black Friday is available until 23:59 on 02/12/2019. Only for new subscribers. Access to sports materials for a year for a fee in advance of PLN 44.50. Full standard price of PLN 89 It is automatically extended annually for the standard annual price then in force, unless canceled earlier. A minimum period of 12 months shall apply during the first year of payment and each extension year. All prices include VAT. Access to all content on Eurosport Player.

Still for €20 it's better than the usual £40

They didn't double the price. You just paid half price first year. I also had message that next payment would be 44.5zl, but I knew they would charge 89zl. Still 89zl is a bargain. i watch it a lot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 338 ✭✭DM-BM

My account still says 44.50zl due on 25th.

My account renews next April. I am on the 44.5 zloty plan.

I seen today an option to 'resume' your subscription. Curious, and hoping it might buy me another year at the price, I clicked it.

Nothing much seemed to happen after the click (ie no request to confirm payment); afew mins later I got an email thanking me for purchasing a Eurosport pass.

The detail in the email shows the pass I apparently bought today expires on my original expiry date (April 2020).

I must watch out for a payment on my card ... But has anyone any idea what 'Resume Subscription' means.

My account in the Eurosport App looks the same as before, one subscription and one transaction receipt (dated last March).
