Saints Row 2 on PSnow. Never played the series before and with recent re-release of 3, thought I'd give this a bash. Looks dated, bit wow this is so much fun. Even the characterisation screen at the start is hilarious. I was then soon spraying sh#t over houses, kidnapping ho's to work in my massage parlour, mass shootouts in a casino and flying an attack helicopter! Love it!

Quick question about Last of Us 2. Not a spoiler but will put it in spoiler tags anyway just in case
it seems to pick up after the dance we saw on a trailer. So does that mean it doesn't show that or will that be a flashback?
I know there was a trailer with hanging and wondering should I watch that or will it be in the game? I didn't watch it before as was trying to avoid trailers.

You'll see both those things in the game.

Metro exodus. And its the biggest waste of money I've spent in years. Bugs, constant crashing, freezing, terrible controls. Such a pity, as I enjoyed The first 2 so much.

After finishing AC Unity I decided to try the Nathan Drake Collection that I got for free. It was like going from ps4 to ps1 :pac:

I think I'll just randomly drop in and out of that one.

Started AC Syndicate. Seeing similarities with some of the older games. I dislike the Eagle vision being on L3 as opposed to the triangle button and you'd need magnifying glasses to see the icons on the map. Other than that though it seems good so far!

Ghost of Tsushima has honestly surprised the hell out of me, I didn't pay any attention at all during the marketing or anything, did not look like much in my opinion, I hate dark souls and it seemed to be advertised imo as a Dark souls game

Wow was I wrong, easily the 2nd best release of the year behind Final Fantasy 7 remake, another game I had absolutely slated during the marketing for it, not until the demo did I have any hope for that game, but my god they did it so right

I picked up MK11 Aftermath, and finished both main stories. Pretty good in fairness. Now I'm trying to play the towers, and every 3 or 4 matches I get disconnected due to server issues and kicked back to the main menu. This has happened every time I've tried, and I'm only trying the 5 match Tower. Makes playing the longer towers seem impossible. I know it's not my Internet. Anyone else experiencing this? Seems to lock out a lot of the game if it's an issue. Putting me off even trying. That, and the Krypt is ridiculous now, plus all this extra shyte you collect making it even harder to actually open anything. Good game, but ruined by this crap so far.

I actually quite enjoyed the Krypt to an extent. There's a few minor puzzles and a bit of exploration. But definitely the abundance of extra tat you get from most things you open is a pain in the hole.

Never had any server issues myself when doing towers (or at least, not recurring enough to note) but it's been a while since I played. Have you checked any MK Twitter pages or subreddits to see if it's a known issue on their side at the minute?

Nothing specific, but the Internet is full of people having issues and WB/NR not even acknowledging issues. Pro players reporting the same, but i think they've given up on hoping for a fix. Was apparently alright until Aftermath launched.

Playing AlienNation (PSNow), Battlefront II, COD Warzone and Deadlight (PSNow)

AlienNation is a great little shooter
Battlefront II - left is for a long time but just trying to finish the campaign, then will prob get rid of it
COD Warzone - can't believe this is a free game!
Deadlight - side scrolling survival game. Similar to Limbo which I LOVED

Is it free for those without a Ps plus sub?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,407 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

no it's an online Battle Royal and you need PS plus to be online

    Exactly, so it's not free

If you don't have a Ps Sub you cannot play it, so yes it is free for an Online game.... why try make a statement like that just to be argumentative?

Played a fair bit of it over a few days. I really enjoyed it at the start but it quickly became very repetitive like all online games. Haven't gone back to it in a few days now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,232 ✭✭✭✭Penn

I'm still enjoying it. After spending the last few months mostly playing Sekiro and Bloodborne, I'm enjoying the simplicity of Fall Guys and ease of jumping in for a few rounds without having to be in a particular mindset that can be required for harder games. Some of the games in it are getting easier once you have your own rhythm. Some are actually getting a bit harder with opponents being better and even more grabbing/pushing by them in some of the games like Block Party or Roll Out which can affect your timing/positioning.

For me it'll be something like Rocket League. After another month or two I'll lose interest in, but it's something I imagine I'll dip back into occasionally inbetween bigger games.

Its great as a bit of a party game as well. The sister-in-law and her partner were over the other day and we were all shouting and cheering whoever was playing. Great fun.

Playing Ghost of Tsushima. Really enjoyable, and does well on a PS4 Pro (and the sound design is A1).

After Jedi Fallen Order I wanted a bit of a swordplay fix and enjoying the quality of the main and side quests and the mechanics overall.

Finished TLOU2, I enjoyed it but it kind of dragged on a bit too much for me, not sure I'll play it again.

I have a game called 'Journey' that I bought a year ago and still haven't gotten round to playing so that's next on my PS4 agenda.

It's about 2-3 hours long and it's absolutely incredible.

    Journey is absolute dogshìt.

I loved Journey, but do recognise that it's either something you'll love or really hate. I was on the fence for most of my playthrough but once it clicked, it f*cking clicked. It's far more of an experience than a game, but it's a truly tremendous experience at that. I played through it all in one sitting.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,298 ✭✭✭RedRochey

I finished Journey last weekend and it's . . . grand, like it's beautiful and easy to play and once you finish you think "that was nice" but I don't see how people think it's incredible, guess I just don't get it, not a deep thinker

Feels like English in secondary school when you read a simple poem but somehow the teacher manages to interpret it as the meaning of life

    Journey is amazing IMO.
But I understand why people don't agree with my opinion.

I compare it into the indie/arthouse movie in a world of blockbusters, its a complete slowdown and a palette cleanser.
I love the fact its just easy and relaxing and the "story" give you emotions.
Saying that I played it once got what I wanted out of it and never played it again just a lovely gaming memory.
Its a platform version of a walking sim and for me was something completely different when I sat down and played it.
