Best War Movie EVER - Boardsies Decide

And this time in this lovely corner of Boards I bring to you another tournament of epic proportions.

We've already had:

Best Movie Ever as decided by Boardsies: (Goodfellas)

So let's go for the hat-trick!


What is the best War Movie you have ever seen? Can you compromise with other Boardsies and come together to vote for favourite ones? Let's find out, shall we


So from the original game, how it works, with a couple of tweaks:

• PM me your top 5 WAR movies in no particular order
• We'll leave it open for about 10 days (Let's say Monday, 23rd September)
• I'll collate the movies, sort by popularity, and those with the most votes will automatically go into the first round proper. The others... well let's do things a little different than before...
• Instead of eliminating movies like I did in the last contest, what I will do instead is match up the unseeded movies in battle royale type matches. They will fight it out in a first to 5 votes scenario with the winner advancing to the first round proper.
• Then we'll open up for the first round proper, two films fight it out. With a tennis scoring system: the first to 6 votes with two clear points ahead. Give reasons for your choice too, just to make it a bit interesting. No time limit, just the first to 6.
• The winner goes to the next round, and repeat with the next two until we've halved the number
• Depending on popularity of the contest (he says hopefully) Quarter Finals will be first to 8, Semis first to 10, Final first to 12, until eventually we have a winner, and the arguments can begin.
• I'll try to seed the most popular movies (ie those submitted with the most votes) mentioned in the knock-out so we're not starting out with #1 and #2 the top rated movies from the get go.
