Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Did you have your home address or a different one that you don't have access to at the moment? Hopefully they can tell you where they have been delivered to.

Had my home address down. I emailed them 3 days ago enquiring about where my order was, got nothing..... Am beginning to wonder if this is a scam?

Got an out of office reply to my query (I filled in the online form) basically saying they are extremely busy and will get back to me as soon as they can.
Thank you for your message. Due to the recent high level of sales, it is taking longer than usual to respond to customer queries. We will reply to your message as soon as possible.
Please be assured that if you are awaiting a delivery, your order will be with you shortly. The average delivery time is currently 4 weeks.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience.

    Kind regards,

So has anyone received anything yet at all?

I placed my order on 2 March - about 20 books/sets - and have received 3 so far, all sent separately in different boxes. Status online on my account still says "Pending". I used Address Pal, never thinking that every single book would be sent separately, so really hope the rest of my items are sent together or else it's gonna get mighty 'spensive!

I have status as pending as well. Send them email few days ago but didnt replied so far ;-(

I ordered mine on the 3rd of March also.
Was hoping they would be shipped and delivered within the month but hopefully giving them the 4 weeks they should post on the 24th of March and then usually takes a week

The place has hundreds of thousands of books. Massive number of orders and state clearly that orders will take 4 weeks.

So if like me you ordered early March, then don't expect delivery until early April.

If you get it earlier, then it's a bonus

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 661 ✭✭✭selfbuilder1

I have an order from February 16 which is due for delivery on Monday next the 23rd. This was an order before the clearance sale.

    Give them a break ffs.

No need to be so rude tho seriously there is no need for the attack people in general were enquiring about the orders which were made long before it escalated! I have ordered books from other places which did arrive.
So we are entitled to ask questions and follow up with emails so there's no need for the Criticism.
We're all very aware of what's going on thanks

Back off and mind your own business seriously

You can’t post your ‘business’ on a public forum and then tell people to mind their own business

For your own sake, don’t worry about book deliveries. Just accept you’ll get them eventually

    Yeah I noticed that also.
When I did my order it said 4 weeks I guess they couldn't handle the amount of orders so it's changed to 7 weeks.
The website has now changed to closing down sale.
Begining of March it was clearance sale.

Administrators have confirmed that they have not found a buyer and that they are now closing it.
They also let half of the warehouse staff go and instead of two shifts, it works on a single shift, Monday to Friday

Nothing happening on my order of 6th March.................but my order of 26th March is partly on its way according to their email of yesterday.
I then emailed yesterday asking them what is happening with the earlier order.I paid with PAYPAL. So would imagine its just this Pandemic that is causing massive delay.

I think that's jumping the gun, it said estimated 4 weeks delivery and its been exactly 4 weeks since this thread started. The website now says 7 weeks delivery so they're obviously running behind. I'm still confident my order will arrive

Well I was given two Hermes tracking numbers so guessing my order was split in two. There was a few box sets etc so might have been too big for one box.

Website essentially closed down, you can no longer check orders.

    http://thebookpeople.co.uk

Had a discussion with them via twitter direct message - that's gone now as they have deleted their social media accounts.

Think of a bar after last orders.

Most staff gone and those left are cleaning the place up. 😂

Any staff that are not needed are gone and that includes social media staff

Me too an irish Address. Got no email yet.
Waiting 5 weeks now so will wait for the 7 weeks and see.
I already got slated on here asking about the orders so I'm just waiting now and I presume they will send it when it's ready I did order a lot too.
Pity they are closing down we ordered from them in the past and they have a great selection of books.

Think I read earlier in the thread that at least one person who ordered for parcel motel delivery got their order split into multiple deliveries so thay had to pay the parcel motel fee multiple times?

Our order was split between 7 debits on our credit card, does this mean we will get 7 delivers to parcel motel does anyone know? Was having a chat via twitter direct message but that's stopped and history gone as they have closed the account.

Our original order was for 7 books in one transaction.

      8. Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,642 ✭✭✭sillysocks

My delivery was split in two but wouldn’t have fit in one box so can understand it.

But one disappointed child here today, one of the box sets I ordered was the Mr Men collection, meant to be 52 books. And instead I got a set of mr men pencils and rubbers. Chances of getting the right books now are probably zilch. Have contacted them anyway but will see.
