Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I wonder will the county councils be gritting the roads so we can all get to and from work safely.

    Is snow expected on low ground? It’s crazy windy here. Lights flickering for last few hours

    No, any wintry precipitation will be infrequent and on high ground, no point whatsoever gritting widely in driving rain and storm force winds.

    They are small an can get down into hedges and objects that block the wind because they are small there are many such sheltered places.

    Have to go outside to sort a banging noise. Never seen gale and rain like this out here before and there will be damage. Worse than Brendan, and Red Alert area, deluging like a tap but I have a rain cape then going to bed.

    So between today and Wednesday there's no chance of slippery roads caused by snow or hail.
    Im not on about frost but hail sleet and snow.

    Up on the 4th floor in an apartment, near Lucan. Fairly getting walloped at the minute. Had a heavy chair on the balcony and took it in. Was moving way too much for my liking already

    Yes, I'm quite surprised by how windy it is already today in Lucan! Howling down the chimney and a large branch has hit the window.

    It irritates me no end when reading threads to see somebody "dissing" comments and obversations by folks on here. For the record I have lived most of my life in a very exposed coastal area in Co.Galway and conditions have certainly deteriorated over the last 40 mins. It certainly is not a normal windy and wet afternoon....if it was I'd be out getting my veg plot ready for the Spring! Glad I was first in the door at the polling station this morning.

    For the conversion attempt after the last and bonus point try Ireland scored against Wales the ball had to be held by another player before the kicker kicked the missed attempt. So it must have become windy in the Aviva Stadium.

    Check out the wind in the Scotland v England match Murrayfield .. from the English end. Whenever they kick high it goes back behind them. Farrell has missed a few .. ones he would normally get. Ball has to be kept very low when kicking. Wind is and will have a huge impact on this match. Even the lineouts, forget long ones

    The worst of the current weather in the West was around 1-3pm.

    The highest gusts (km/h) and times were

    Mace Head = 96 (1pm)
    Belmullet = 117 (2pm)
    Newport = 107 (2pm)

    It has slackened off since then.

    I drove from Galway to Castlebar at lunchtime and its definitely worse now! Just drove into town and back from approx 7km Newport side of town and it feels alot more windy and driving sheets of rain, lots of spot flooding. Water is coming up through the manhole covers between St Geralds and Newtown.

    Lol. Yeah. She lives on Clare island, just across the water from me. She's somewhat dramatic when it comes to the usual winter storms we get here.
