Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nope, but living like a hermit because of this bloody thesis is a great money saver, so I blow it on clothes every so often. :D
I'm still spending less than I would be if I was going out at weekends etc.

This thread is supposed to be for clothes appreciation, and sharing where and how much items were so others could find them if interested.
I don't think it adds anything to the thread to comment on how much someone buys or spends though.

Probably was...... but I felt as though I had to justify buying what I did. (maybe the tiredness is just kicking in)

Anyway it doesn't really matter, I'm excited about my purchases, so let's move on and not hijack the thread. :) People come on here to drool over clothes and accessories, not read comments. :D

Strangely enough I had checked back and only saw the first part of your message.

I wasn't trying to make anyone justify their spending. I think you are being overly paranoid, but I apologise if I annoyed you. I couldn't imagine blowing that much money at one time on clothes and would probably seem to me like it was defeating the purpose of saving in the interim, but maybe not.

    That is all!

Couldn't find the exact photo of this shirt, but I got this Blue & white check shirt in Penney's for only €9. The one I have only has one top pocket though, so pic isn't exact. You can roll up the sleeves and button. its nice and lightweight for the summer.primark-CedarwoodBluChkShrtCMYK.jpg

    img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=91041978

Hoping they're nice as there are a few things on the site I have earmarked.

Anyone familiar with this site know what I can expect?

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 30,657 Mod ✭✭✭✭Faith

It's very hit and miss. About 50% of the stuff I order is perfect, the rest is either poorly sized or miles too short (I'm 5'5). The bonus of the site is that returns are free, and you just pop it back in the bag it came in. Refunds are quick so there's nothing to lose by ordering loads of stuff and sending what doesn't work back.

I got a few small things recently but as I can't find images for any of them, especially the Penney's stuff, I've had to take some on my phone, so apologies for the crappy images, they were taken quickly!!

The first is from Penney's & is a 3/4 length sleeve sweatshirt in light grey with faded flowers on the front, this was €10. I usually wear a size 10, but I got this in a 12 as I found the 10 a bit too fitted and I prefer things like that a bit looser.

The two t-shirts are from a local store which is actually closing down, so these were on sale. The second image is a 'Saltrock' t-shirt in red, and I got it for €10 and the last image is an 'Animal' t-shirt which was only €8.50! Sorry I've no links for these and they appear to be past season stock as they're not on the Saltrock or Animal websites.

Eviltimeban - I LOVE your suit. Where did you get it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,106 ✭✭✭eviltimeban

You'll never believe it (or maybe you will), but M&S - its a new one in from the Collezione range. I love those suits as they are inexpensive, well made, and somehow I can put them on straight off the rack and they fit me perfectly. With other suits I'm back and forward to the tailor getting alterations; with these I didn't even have to alter the trousers (and I'm 6'5").

    Glad you like!

I can't believe that's M&S, very stylish! I was expecting you to say Vivienne Westwood or something when I saw the check pattern. Good purchase!

M&S can be hit and miss with their sizes and their styles, but for the most part the Sartorial and Collezione ranges are excellent. Several known Savile Row tailors have said that for what you pay, M&S suits are some of the best you can get.

I go through suits pretty quickly so for me its beneficial that they aren't that expensive.

I really really wanted this dress for an upcoming few weddings...the colour is just gorgeous and the photo does not do it justice! It was far too expensive though (239€).

On Friday I came home from work and my boyfriend called over with a present of the dress! I'm the luckiest girl in the world :)
