Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is this the case? If the rain is coming from the North -West I would have thought that it was the distance from that coast that would be material, 1982 style.

Thought the same myself. He didn't say snow on the coast either he just said rain in the west and north west and snow in the midlands and east.

Yeah, you do have a point , I just checked out the fax charts and you have a valid point. Timing though is of big importance, looks like its going to be hitting Dublin around mid afternoon - warmest part of the day.. If it was 6 AM..different ballgame.

To anyone who may find it useful. The Luas to cherrywood was running normally. Just got home.

I wouldn't bother with the buses if you have another option. Waited for over an hour for a 45 or 7 and all that went by was one 7, that didnt stop, and 2 out of service buses. The information they are giving out is rubbish. Some of the drivers were saying that they were told to stop, yet 2 mins later I hear yer one from dublin bus on the radio saying that all the buses listed on the website were up and running.

Pearse st/Trinity was at a standstill cause of a crash and had trapped a bunch of the buses that leave from beside Trinity. Id hope its cleared by now though.

Going by the latest radar, we were just at the edge of where that snow was which would explain the lightness and brevity of it. But I think the stream coming in behind is in a much better orientation for us.. fingers crossed.

Heaviest snow I've ever seen falling here in Sandyford. Went outside to check the depths an hour ago. 1 foot of snow on the parts that haven't been walked on. This is insane!

I'm in Sandyford too but I'd call that heavy sleet - in fact I thought it was raining at first! Thank goodness for the Luas - we'd never have got the kids to school without it today. I've a college deadline this evening and was just getting stuck into it in the library this morning, didn't get distracted by boards (for a change) when I happened to take a break to read email - to find the library was closing at 1.30 and the whole place was closing at 2pm! This country is mad:)

Nearly done though so hopefully can relax and play in the snow tomorrow...

For all deprived Cork fans out there, a small glimmer of hope.
The latest radar is holding up the ppn quite well as it travels inland.
We just may get more snow tonight, fingers crossed guys!!
