Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know that I'll stock up on half-price offers when they come around

Olive oil is €2.14/l which is an excellent deal.

It is indeed a good price, but it's the lower quality oil which is fine for cooking with, but not so great when taste is important.

Was in Lidl earlier, saw a woman being allowed pay ~14 olive oil bottles, another customer with 8 bottles..
Lidl clearly state it's max 5 per customer

Never ever saw it being enforced, why should they really care, once they sell out they don't give a damn

Don't worry about it they have pallet loads of the stuff, but all the turkey mince and seafood long gone for today.

Some deal on the turkey mince today - really should have picked up more than 2. Super value

Good to see that Vitafit 1.5l OJ is half price.
Shame that it has not been in stock in our local store for over a month... replaced by the much lower quality 'simply' juice.

I've discovered before that products can run out by Sunday.
That's why they put a customer limit of 5 per item in place, but as I said it is not being enforced.

It's fine . I use it all the time in the coffee machine ...and on the plus side, you can wipe your arse with some nice plush bog roll after your morning coffee as that's on sale as well .

    Top job :p

Does anyone eat those frozen berries?

I always eat fresh fruit but think the frozen pack would be a lot handier, but was put off by the FSAI warning.

    Handy for smoothies / cocktails..

There's a risk of contracting Hepatitis A from imported frozen fruit. It should be boiled before use (I can't remember how long for - just a minute or two I think).

they recommend boiling the frozen imported ones for one minute before use, making they useless really for an ice cold drink from my nutri bullet

Ahh ffs , I have been using the XXL bags for months in my morning smoothies.

Boiling them defeats the whole purpose

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,404 ✭✭✭✭vicwatson

That notice is around for last couple of years and I've yet to hear of anyone being sick etc from them. I've never boiled them. Ever. Defeats the purpose

I eat the berries, daily, either in porridge (so heated) or with yogurt (not heated). Still alive.

    Thanks.

I was looking at Tescos frozen fruit.

E2 for 400G of Irish Strawberries (I think). Might try them since they're not imported

Yeah, I thought that at first but wishful thinking got the better of me! (and I wasn't arsed editing the post)

Edit: Just found out they use a mix of Irish and imported.

    BEEEF!

Everyone seems to be on the round roasts these days. SuperValu had 33% off it last weekend and Aldi have it in their Super 6 this weekend.

Our slow cooker is getting great use.

Where did I say that? Knew nothing of it until I came in here then the penny dropped that some of those products were not priced down in Lidl yesterday.

    It's no mystery
