Going back some 10 years now. I used to always tell my wife what a shït hole Ireland was. Constantly. Hated the place. Every chance I got. Ireland is shït.

Shït. Shït. Shït. Over and over and over.
Well, as you can imagine. She had enough. She told me, if I hate the place so much why don’t I do something about it or I’m free to go back. And rightfully so.

    I’m still here, so.

Was my wife racist? Or is it only racist if you say something like that to a non white?

She said it to you because you were constantly saying its shìt

    That's not racist.

Trump said it to people who were not "constantly" whinging about the place, so yes thats racist.

Several people pointed out your story isn't relevant to the congresswomen. You told a story about your wife in relation to the Congress women. No one here sees the relevance of a conversation with your wife with people in political office saying the same thing. It also appears that when pressed on it you don't have the slightest clue why you mentioned it either.

I'll ask again because I think the heat's getting to Muffin.

Would those defending Trump's actions be happy with someone telling an Irish citizen of Chinese origin to go back to where they came from?

Why Chinese specifically? Do you have something against the Chinese?

And you think I have issues with comprehension?

Trump tweeted to them after having enough of their vitriol, that if you do t like America you are free to leave.

    Does that comprehend?

And of course you will say no, blah, blah, blah…

    What he said was
.” He then suggested that they go back and “fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came” before coming back to “show us how it is done.”

3 of them are from America, born and raised there.

Haha that's what I was getting at... Outlaw put a lot of work into getting such pictures of trump. He's coming across a little bias.

I did a little more than merely show that Trump has been pictured with black people, but sure, if there is a lot of evidence of someone having a lot of time for people of colour then yes I think that can go someway to refuting an accusation that they have 'always been a racist'.

Nah, you're not just curious. You're trying to imply I'm a racist by way of a loaded question.

I'll answer anyway: I wouldn't be happy with anyone being told to go back where they came from, even if they weren't born in the country in which they reside, and you would know that had you been reading the thread competently.

    Indeed you did.
He even got the benefit of the doubt with the 200,000 casino pay out due to racism because you felt he might have been afraid.

You didn't even give us anything with poor 'ol Bette :)
One tweet..boom, all the proof you needed.

Maybe just me but - coming across as very disingenuous and for whatever reason very defensive of Trump, extremely defensive of Trump IMO.
    Very bias toward Trump.

No to be honest Muffin it doesn't comprehend.

So as I mentioned I work in American government research. Privately we're told that when we issue a science press release we have to make it the level "that a Trump supporter would understand". Now I realise I have my work cut out for me.

At what point did America stop being a great country?

Trump got into POTUS because of talking about the bad things that were going on in the US, how he'd change it to make it better etc...

Same stuff the 4 ladies are saying, they see things that are bad in the country and want to make them right in their opinions, Medicare/environmental/living wage etc.

What Trump said was racist, the defense of him here is along the lines of "I've black friends" so I can't be racist when I use racist language.

    Example.... https://v.redd.it/tf2m6gw12ac31

And a follow up with an interview..

You're letting the side down there Pete. Previously you've stated that race had nothing to do with Trump's utterances. Now you say it's racist. I'm not accusing you of racism per say. My first point is that you and the other supportesrs are in denial of Trump's racism but deep down you know he's a racist.
You're trying to imply I'm a racist by way of a loaded question.

So Trump "supporters" are dumb - yeah, great argument.

Oh and I'd suggest that whatever 'American government research' facility it is which you work at, or with, they can't be all that prestigious (or indeed, ethical) if they are suggesting that half the electorate have low IQs purely because of how they voted in the last presidential election.

Two levels above an Obama supporter, eh?

You can ignorantly accuse me of "whataboutism," but what it really is involves identifying similar scenarios in order to see if it holds up when the shoe is on the other foot!

For someone that is keen to suggest that they're more intelligent than those they're engaging with, your comprehension isn't the exactly best now is it.

You asked me would I be happy with someone telling an Irish citizen of Chinese origin to go back to where they came from. You should already know I wouldn't be but I induled you anyway, making it clear that I wouldn't be and labelled it a racist thing to do..... but my labelling that a racist thing to does not therefore mean that what Donald Trump said was racist..... as he didn't tell someone to 'go back to where they came from' purely because of they were not caucasian.

In fact he didn't tell anyone to merely go back to where they came from' at all, he asked some despicable people (who empathize ISIS, but want white people profiled, who compare his administration to the third reich that don't care about children being mistreated as long as they're non-whites) why they don't go and fix the situations in countries from which they came and THEN COME BACK and tell him how to run America.

Said all this already but seeing as it appears you haven't read the thread, I'll quote it for you:
It's not racist to tell people who have immigrated to a country (and who won't stop complaining about that country) to go and fix the issues with the countries from which they came and then come back and tell us how it's done.

Now this is where the argument keeps getting switched to: but most of them were born in blah blah blah....... but you see, while that is true, that just makes Trump misinformed, at worst, it does not make him racist.

You can be damn sure if some white South African upstart congresswomen (who was granted asylum in the states for some reason) was running around saying America was fascist, he'd be telling her the same damn thing. Trump wouldn't give a fcuk what race a person was, he just doesn't like his administration being lied about.

Again, he is an economic nationalist, not a white supremacist.

Now, if you disagree with that, fine, make an argument to rebut it - as merely suggesting people are racist and lack intelligence isn't one, or not a cogent one at least.

It's not about IQ. Trump supporters have a problem with facts so we have to give it to them gently.

Ah that's not fair he only told some Democrats to go back to where they came from. Other white democrats that were actually born abroad received no such chants.

Very odd thing to tell people, that when issuing a press release do so with those who voted for Trump in mind. Care to name this place?

Tell me, eddy, would you say the following is factual? It's a recent quote from Omar:
You all should end this charade and accept that this racist president wants every black/brown person....

Oh and what are your feelings on this comment from her also:

Pete even if all of those things are true then it still doesn't justify telling these people to "go back where they come from". Why it's racist is that he used their ethnicity as a indication that they don't come from America. Three of them are in fact American born.

Yeah Obama read some good speeches off teleprompters. But eloquent answers to questions? Questions he had in advance and had speech writers provide him with prepared answers, perhaps. Did you ever see him answer questions off the cuff? You wouldn't be so impressed. And no, Obama didn't think airplanes existed during the war for independence... but he did think there were 57 states.

Show me some proof where Obama supporters are so much more intelligent than Trump supporters... Mr high and mighty research man.
