Brake disc and pad change, recommendation in Dublin?

    Got my 03 Corolla serviced at a main dealer and apparently my front discs and pads need to be changed, maybe the calipers too. Got quoted €433 for the discs and pads and €700 total if the calipers need to done too.

    Sounds very high to me. Can anyone recommend a decent indy garage in south dublin (I'm in D6W) that I might be able to get a better deal?

    Was thinking about buying the parts of micksgarage and just paying for labour somewhere, but a bit worried about showing up with parts that aren't exactly right or are incompatible.

    Any indy will come in a good bit cheaper.

    Price doesn't sound too bad for a main dealer all the same.

    Sounds v dear to me,enter your registration number on Mick's garage,or Mr auto.ie,you'll get the right caliper,brake,discs etc for your motor,and surely someone here,local to you will recommend a garage that won't rip u off,lots of knowledge able ppl here to give u good advice (not classing myself as one,of c)

    Calipers too? Did they explain why they thought these might need replacing as generally they last the life of the car? Did they explain why they weren't sure if the Calipers needed replacing?

    My local mechanic charged me €30 for labour to change rear discs and pads :) I got the parts myself discs €50 pads €30.
