Broken door lock on 98 Corolla

Hi

I am wondering is it possible and much expense to replace the lock on the outside of a 98 Corolla? It has central locking and is a 3 door hatchback. The passenger door has a lock too which is fine I am wondering can they be swapped over?

It has been starting to go this while but is now fcuked just. I can still lock it from the inside and go out the passengers door and then lock that but its hassle. At the same time if its a big job that costs much its not worth it for an older car.

Do you mean the cylinder itself where the key fits into?
"to got" and "fcuked" isn't very descriptive - what is actually wrong?
Did you try oiling the lock?

Yes the cylinder it doesn't turn at all now

I suggest you pull door card off and take lock apart from the inside to free whatever is causing the obstruction..
Perhaps that will restore it.

Ok will give that a go but am wondering if it is done are they expensive to replace?

If you're in Dublin, summerhill spares in Coolock have loads of corolla parts. I got a few bits (including a barrel lock for the driver door) for an e10 corolla from them before. Probably around 10 or 20 Euro for barrel lock and key, but try oiling it up first.
