Biker signals

I will admit that I only really know one biker signal, and appreciate the heads up this evening from a biker heading north on the N2, around Tedcastles. He gave a few taps on his helmet, which is about the only signal I knew, so I slowed down a little to just under the speed limit. About a mile or two later, saw a white estate cage pulled in on the left side (as I headed south), with two lovely Garda inside. A good spot for an unmarked car to catch speeders. :D

Anyway, if it was someone on boards, cheers !!!! ;)

Now I must brush up on a few other signals -

If he ignored it, he'd be done for speeding.
I always notify other rider of speed traps, but usually the palm out pressing to the ground, the universal "slow down" gesture

Only one I know, apart from head nodding, waving and sticking you're leg out, but they're more an acknowledgement than a signal.

Patting the top of your helmet to warn other bikers of the fuzz ahead

When I pass a biker at side of the road I slow down and give a thumbs up sign to ask if they are ok. I'll pull over if I get the thumbs down gesture.

What if they're upside down in a ditch, giving a thumbs up?
