audi a4 or Volkswagen Golf? 1st car

Hi I'm looking at starting off in either a 1.6 petrol Audi A4 or else a 1.9tdi Volkswagen Golf van! And no I will not extend the a4 to 1.9tdi I just want a 1.6! Also which would be cheaper for insurance? All info grately appreciated

My understanding is that the tdi's are being insurance loaded particularly for young drivers, it's something you really need to explore with a broker or insurance company.
